Institute of Public Affairs Research Fellow Saxon Davidson discusses the Labor government’s handling of immigration amid the housing crisis.
“The government is already over the promise they made at the last budget by 50,000 new migrants,” Mr Davidson told Sky News host Steve Price.
“This promise from the government is simply not worth the paper it is written on, and it shows they have simply no desire to turn off the tap and let the supply of housing catch up with migrants.”

I thought Albo said he was going to cut immigration? Nothing against immigrants wanting a better life , but not while there is a housing crisis . Even if there was enough housing, for many the prices are ridiculous, talking to a neighbour down the street , he’s paying ….$ 660 dollars a week rent for a smallish 60 year old 3 bedroom house in Melbourne northern outer burbs which is just highway robbery , but that is not going to change while we have to many people and not enough houses. Immigration needs to stop for a few years.
