It's funny how the "Forever" cover looks so outdated, while "Spice" and "Spiceworld" still remain iconic

Fun fact about the Greatest Hits cover: each letter was made with actual jewels by David Morris.The "S" is made from amber and represents Victoria, the ruby pink "P" is Emma, Melanie C's letter "I" is made from a diamond; Geri is the "C", made from amethyst stones and the emerald "E" is Mel B.

All unique to the album, but let me just say, the Spice World cover is timeless, genius design, effortlessly beautiful. Love that cover (& the black & white looks they wore in the inserts, all of it!) just perfection

The "Spice Girls font" was a key element in their consistent branding. It was an industrial looking Sans Serif font, not very girly, but this was essential for its versatility. It could be squished and expanded any way they needed it, and it always looked good and felt Spice Girls. Very few fonts are this easy to transform. It could be styled marvellously, as the covers show. Many, many fans were obsessed with it - myself included - and since it turned out to be a rare typeface from the early 90's, it took the fanbase more than a decade to finally uncover it. And when the new anniversary albums were released a few years ago, tons of fans complained on social media how ugly and non-Spice Girls they look. The Spice Girls team actually responded, but with a BS that they don't really have the license to use that font anymore. Which is nonsense, since then they couldn't have used any of the originals either. There are tens of thousands of Spice Girls fans who grew up to be designers, ANY of them could have done a decent cover for the new releases, yet they decided to go with the abominations at 4:18.

Forever gave us 'Holler' which is a complete bop. Im so glad that song exists and the video is great

Spice is a classic, for everything it represents. Spice World is my favorite album, because it has my favorite songs. But I have to say that I respect Forever a lot. There are a lot of good things in this album, but it took a long time to be released, and the girls weren't so interested in being spice girls anymore.

Did anyone else as a kid not understand what Victoria’s body was doing? I thought her back leg was an arm stuck in a tube top and her torso disappeared. I thought 20 years later I’d figure it out, but my friend had to explain it to me while I was looking at it for 5 minutes to get it. finally I can die satisfied.

Forever looks so awkward. If it were up to me, it would have just featured a shot of a sunset because this was the final album.

Like many fans, I relish discussing their branding, and for me, "Spiceworld" stands out as the most iconic artwork. The vibrant colors of the letters evoke the brilliance of a rainbow, reminiscent of how a compact disc shimmers in the light. Additionally, I deeply admire the girls' unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community. The Greatest Hits album was a stroke of genius, though I’ve always wondered why "Step To Me" was excluded and, most perplexing of all, why the artwork for the vinyl edition was altered! On the other hand, the Forever album is my least favorite. While I appreciate the intention behind the girls holding hands to symbolize "friendship never ends", I believe it could have benefited from more originality. If I had been in charge, I would have loved to see them embody the four elements of nature, much like they did in the music videos for "Holler" and "Let Love Lead the Way." Moreover, I think "Right Back At Ya" and "If You Wanna Have Some Fun" deserved to be released as singles!

"Spice" will forever be my favourite album cover of all time. Truly iconic in a way that no other album cover has ever been to me. I was so obsessed with the album and its singles covers that I recreated the "Spice" and "Spiceworld" eras font from scratch in 2017, since there were so many fans (myself included) that wanted it. In fact, said font was used during the 2019 tour, on selected official merchandise, and is now being used on the official Spice Girls website (major thanks to the enthusiastic encouragement of a few fans in contact with the Girls' team). As a Spice Girls fan since 1998, it's a dream come true to see the font reinstated as part of their brand. A year ago I even remade the marbled "Wannabe," "Say You'll Be There" and "2 Become 1" logo as a vector. Can you tell I'm a little obsessed? Haha!

I loved the consistency of the Spice album and its singles and then again the same with Spiceworld. The less said about Forever the best. When Geri left, they changed their 'font' to a kinda futuristic silver SPICE (as seen on their Back In Britain tour programmes and their official fan club magazines until about 2000.) Not sure why they didn't use that newer logo but the album art for Forever is just so bad. I do find it poignant though in that they are all dressed in black, their logo and album name is printed in black- almost as if the mood matched their enthusiasm for being Spice Girls back then, in a 'the fun is over' way.

Also that title became the logo they put on EVERY SINGLE product of merch they created. ❤❤ Oh I miss the 90s

Although the first two albums' covers are iconic and the in to their marketing overall, but Forever, although not as exciting, definitely was indicative of the time and reflects a style used in RnB releases.... It also reflects a maturity and an upfront admittance of his they have changed as a group. Sure, it's not exciting, but I still like it.

I wish they had kept with the theme and had the girls inside the letters for the 3rd album. They could have put the word ‘girls’ inside the ‘i’ and the 4 members inside the four letters on the right and left. They could have made it look more subdued by having a more muted color palette inside the letters and in the outfits they wore, carrying the theme over into the 3rd album. What they ended up doing was too basic and they played it too safe.

since they fired their manager and tried to do things on their own, it really lacked any element of their original branding. And in terms of branding, they failed hardly. The concept of rebranding lsot basically all the previous building stones that made their brand what it was. And even though there always have been some alternations to the logo, with Forever it was obvious departure from not only their brand but also band. As if it was already decided they are ready to move on. More over, not only they tapped into mature listeners audience, they definitely caught on very specific demography with this release. But again, thinking you can do it on your own and doing it on your own is not the same. They learnt their lesson but it was too late.

And we are just ignoring the fact Victoria's body is cropped horribly on the Spice album cover. Cool

Loved this video. I was always obsessed with the album art for the first two albums. Couldn't put my finger on it. Just represented the brand and the girls so well. I also feel like the second album was more darker in tone, mirroring the darker world of fame and excess and popularity they experienced. The first album was just a refreshing rainbow of colour. The third album was mature but boring. And did not match the brand at all.
