@@jct903 Only engine block was used and with a slight difference, the one in 155DTM Ti was revving @12k RPM ;)

Giugiaro is great, Giovanni Michelotti is also one of my favourites

@@WillItEverWorkAgain yes Giugiaro is incredibly versatile. Michelotti designed beautiful cars too. Spada did some racecars for Zagato, a couple of Alfas like the TZ, but also cars like BMW E34 5 series

I've got a stand off kit , or the spoiler spacers to be accurate. Bought it at Doune auto jumble around 22 years ago. But I've never owned a fiat or alfaromeo

The 164 2.0 Turbo with the 8V Lampredi Twin Cam Turbo from the Thema was the first Alfa with a Fiat/Lancia engine in 1987. It was a tax break small engine special for the Italian market and some othe southern european markets, after a couple of years it was replaced by the 164 2.0 V6 TB, a sleeved down version of the Busso V6

In the UK we also had wide body 155s with the 8V 1.8 'Nord' engine

@@benzinapaul7416 I have never seen a widebody 155 with an 8v engine in the UK, could have been one one of those "chimera special edition series". And yes, 164 with 8v turbo, or Busso v6 2.0tb never came to UK officially.... I have known of one chap that had v6 2.0 tb Spider

@@donnied8127 I've owned a couple of GTV V6 TBs here in the UK, they are easier to tune than the NA 3.0/3.2 V6, 280bhp is easy to achive, the downside is the turbo does mute the Busso somewhat. With regard to the 155 1.8 8V TS with the Nord engine and the wide body, this was an official car and was sold alongside the Fiat derived 1.8 16V TS accross Europe and the UK, it was just a way to use up old engine stocks. I dealt in used Alfas in the 2000s up to the mid 2010s and had a couple pass through my hands. They were only available in 1995 and 1996. They do have a following as the Nord engine being chain driven is more reliable than the 16V although performance isn't as great.

@WillItEverWorkAgain the framework for regulations such as Group A, B, C in the eighties was laid out by FISA (the forerunner to the FIA but the local regulations were set out by the individual championship regulatory bodies. Also, I think that whilst the aero kits were standard to road cars they did not to be actually fitted. I know that Renault Laguna road cars has the kit supplied in the boot of the car the customer had to ask the dealer to fit it or fit it themselves.
