Would be great to see some comparisons between the major Mini PCs on the market to get some context on which are better options. A comparison between this, the Minisforum Nuc I7 and HX99 would be a good start, for instance.

@@kaxxxxx It seems to perform about the same and pull about the same power, comparing ETA's two reviews. Especially here he used FSR in most game and Cyberpunk was a High/Med mix. Pretty sure on the HX99G review it was 1440p all High no FSR, almost the same FPS.

I've watched a bunch of these reviews, and honestly, 1440p is not 1440p if FSR is enabled. Balanced FSR at 1440p is a native rendering resolution of 1505 x 847 (a 1.7x scale factor). It's better than integrated graphics and it's nice for something this size, but I need more for an HTPC in the living room on a 4K 120Hz TV. I've got a mini ITX machine with a 6700 XT and it'll be time to upgrade soon.

@@Macc504 I have a 4K120 Sony with VRR support, not hooked to my mini but TVs can make good gaming screens if you shop carefully. They need a credible low-latency gaming mode. Got mine hooked to a mobile 3080 sometimes, Shadow of the Tomb Raider looked great on it.

Awesome mini PC! Knit pick I see is the lack of USB4, and also it could have the 6800M. But by golly though for 1049usd Gaming laptops are a much nicer choice.

At 925$ on sale for a barebone no RAM, no SSD I think I will look at something else. I really like those pc formats but for the interesting ones, I think the price is too high for the value.

The HX80G is super cheap right now too tho. Very small, can be stood up or laid flat. It's tiny compared to the NUCX.

From what I’m seeing on their documentation this is just a morefine s500+ with better gpu and cooling. JACKPOT! If you want a home lab since it has ECC ram.

For the people saying the cpu should have been 6000 series instead, there is absolutely no point in the 6900hx/6800h when there is a dgpu, there was almost no improvement in cpu performance so the only benefit is the 680m igpu and that is only relevant when there is no dgpu. Which is why I felt that the minisforum hx99g was pointless over the hx90g.

If it runs GoW at 1440p Ultra and is a standard Windows PC, it runs emulators perfectly, it's mostly useless on this kind of PC.

ETA Prime how come you never mention the price? Checked the price for the barebones version $925 (No ram and No SSD's or NVMe) and highest version $1,365 (64GB ram+2TB NVMe) by the way the only way to see the price on the site is to add to cart or buy now it does not show price when you choose config.

Morefine website list the gpu at a 100 watts full not 145 watt. I also noticed that the gpu clock speed and boost speed are much lower then my gpu on my hx80g.

The dual LAN on a PC Like this really puzzles me. I'm not sure what the demand for that is on a PC that's almost certainly going in a living room on a TV connected to wireless in 99/100 use cases. Omitting the dual NICs could have shaved off some size and cost.

Nice machine. But I see some flaws, compared to, let´s say, the HX99G Minisforum. 1. CPU (5900X vs 6900X), 2. only one M.2 drive slot, 3. Only DDR4 RAM, compared to the HX99G with DDR5, 4. PCI 3.0 vs 4.0 at the HX99G, 5. just gigabit ethernet, compare to the HX99G with 2.5 gigabit. Also it seem to use a little more juice, than the HX99G. I got my HX99G here in austria today, after 7 weeks of waiting. Going to fit it with 2 2TB PCI 4.0 Samsung 980 PRO Pro SSDs and 2 16GB DDR-5 Kingston Fury Beast RAM. Can´t wait to see this machine in action - which you inspired me to order, @ETA PRIME - thank you for that!

yes but for gaming the morefine is a better choice, it just performs better because this one has the 145w version of the rx6600m

@@kaxxxxx I doubt that. Same chip, same clocks. From their shopt site: Morefine: 2177 game clock. GPU Power up to 100 watts. HX99G gfx: 2177game clock/2416 max boost. ETA Prime has shown Dirt 5 on high settings on HX99G average 78fps, with the Morefine on ultra settings with 64fps. So, IMHO, not a big difference.

@@alfwaibel4773 This has superior build quality, it's not an ugly piece of molded plastic like the Minisforum's are. I also like that it doesnt use liquid metal so it's easy to work on, nothing can happen.

For the price of this you can build something actually capable of 1440p gaming without the need for fsr. I don't think you can call this a 1440p machine when you need any kind of resolution scaling mechanisms.

While this is a nice package, the 2022 ASUS Zephyrus G14 with better specs (6900HS, RX 6700S, WQXGA 120Hz screen, keyboard) is cheaper than this unit. It seems like it would be a better option to get that and connect it to your monitor and have the added portability if desired. Maybe if they drop the price just a little, say $300, this might make more sense for some, especially as a barebones unit.

Nah. Laptops sound like absolute jet engines and they look stupid in a setup with extra screens + keyboard/mouse. This definitely trumps on a laptop. Asus also makes garbage laptops, they look nice but they are trash.

@@karlallantola3703 Ah yes, this looks flatter than the hx99g, but overall the hx99g still looks more compact and I too would choose the hx99g over the m600s because of the form factor. What if both mini pcs were mounted vertically though? Would the m600s not take up less desk space? Edit: The m600s has quite an insensible i/o layout, and lack of usb4 and gen 4 m.2 slot, although 145w on its 6600m likely beats the hx99g. The main thing I want is still 2 full size m.2 nvme slots though, which almost never happens.
