we need future Trunks and current Gohan to have an arc that ends with fusion. Gohan would know everything instantly about future Trunks memories while future Trunks would understand everything Gohan felt from the Saiyan saga to right past Buu. Imagine Trunks having to experience Gohan’s memory of getting his neck snapped by Recoome or even Gohan redirecting the spirit bomb.

The first gohan does this by studying how his powers work, the second one taught a student who carried on his legacy, and the last one watched said student die in front of him while he could do nothing about it. In every sense this gohan is the failure. He failed to save his friends, family, future, universe, everything that he did ended in vain. Which is why seeing him with a Zamasu mindset makes him seem much more reasonable. He gave up. He lost so much and now it didn't even mattered cause now he realizes he was just a bad timeline. He was just a mistake.

Ironically enough, Zamasu's rebellion against Zeno and the G.O.Ds is very similar to how Lucifer rebelled. Lucifer thought he could do a better job than God, and now look at the state of the world. Future Gohan is right about the fact that things are messed up because we rejected the bounds God has set for us, but he is wrong in that there is no saving us. Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, He was buried, and then on the third day He ressurected from the dead so that whosoever believes on Him would not perish but would have eternal life. Lord Jesus Christ is THE way, THE truth, and THE life, and NO ONE comes to the Father but by Him.

This should have been the Future Trunks arc in Super. Gohan Black makes much more sense. Not only would it have set up for Gohan's return, but it would have made it much more personal for Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks. Plus, it would have given Future Gohan a new role

I assume this version of future Gohan didn't knock out Trunks before the battle with the andriods..so he let him fight with him and was unable to save him when the andriods killed him. Trunks only survived because Gohan didn't let him go to that battle.

It's a different version of gohan, a gohan whose lost everything and everybody he cares about, of course he'll change, I'm assuming this version of gohan also went to namek just to find it destoryed, maybe king kai and everyone in the afterlife was killed as well so gohan thinks he even if friends and family had given up on him. The thing is no dragon ball character has experienced as much as this version of gohan when he clearly didn't deserve it in the first place so obviously the character of gohan would be drastic to the gohan in the canon timeline

Given how future Gohan is so radically different from present Gohan just from a single change that domino into radically different outcomes for both timelines It's completely reasonable he could turn out this way given all the time that hap passed by now for him as an alternate future Gohan.

Boi If Canon was like this I might actually feel invested in the series again🤷‍♂️ Like seriously, in a certain pov Gohan is pretty much criticizing the Canon's writing to some extent. Like if timeliness where the Z fighters lost(F*cked up) and had no DragonBalls to Undo their failures, started showing up in the main timeline to show us the consequences they had to suffer when the Canon timeline is out here living like their failures never had consequences... SHIEEEEEET, I just might start recommending DragonBall again
