I understand why people think the logo is too low, but I think it works really well with the web pattern around it and Andrew's leaner physique. I've never had any issues with it.

The position of the spider is something that has always bothered me, but something else that goes along with the spider issue is that the chest in general feels a bit too big, I would describe it as if it was a "funnel", the webbing pattern, spider and blue sides seem to angle too much around the chest area imo.

I dont think its perfect in a literal sense but its absolutely perfect for me, it ticks EVERY box i like in a spidey suit. Not too ripped, big spider, darker colors, big eyes. Like personally i dont think ill ever like a suit more unless they took the ps4 chest logo and copy pasted it onto the tasm2 suit then it would be PERFECT for me but as things stand the tasm 2 suit is my favorite suit and i believe it to be perfect for my specific tastes.

I actually love this suit's colors, it expresses a much more serious color palette while keeping that 'friendly' look which, I think, perfectly exemplifies what the movie had in store for him. This is a much more serious Spider-Man, one who has, by the end of the first movie, already seen two people he looked up to and respected die. This is also technically college stage Spider-Man, not super friendly kid Spider-Man. Idk but I think the colors fit perfectly into what the suit was going for

I never saw the suit as a perfect replica of the comics I just thought it was the best looking one out of the live action suits

I love the Tasm 2 suit but I’ve genuinely preferred The first tasm movies suit it’s way more unique. I really dig the darker colors and especially the tinted eyes it makes him look way more intimidating

While it had a great design, it was a very similar structure to the Raimi suit, the logo was a bit too low on the chest, and it lacked the unique design of the first suit. I would have loved a design that was a bit of a blend, showing how he's become the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man while retaining the aesthetic of the first suit

I think it makes sense for the logos to be longer on the suit. If you look, the back logo for Tobey’s suit matches his more broad physique, Tom Holland has his logo matches his shortcuts stature and the taller back logo of the TASM movies because Andrew Garfield is tall and lanky in the films

Actually not a fan of the TASM 2 suit. I always thought it had too much of a weird mish mash of hard edges and comic book roundness. The spider is a hard angled sharp logo and the eyes are so round and comic book in comparison. Feels like they didn’t wanna commit to a specific look. the colors, the weird web patterning on the chest, the brick design on the blue, the way it fits on his body, all things that feel like an odd choice to me.

Here is what I'm going to predict he's going to say, and it also happens to be my own opinion: This suit has many flaws that are not all in the suit's appearance, but mainly its narrative purpose. When we had a previously established suit and this new suit stripped every last little thing away from what made the previous one unique (with the exception of MAYBE the spider emblem)--and Peter still was making just as many fuck ups as he did in the previous movie, it just doesn't work. The suit also has no practical reason to exist other than it looking cool and more "comic book accurate." It's not like Peter made any notable upgrades, but rather it feels like forced rebranding by the studio (Which it absolutely was, and it absolutely worked, even if that rebranding was in vein because the movie tanked) Also I feel they should have kept smaller elements from the previous design, like kept the size and segmented scary shape of the spiders. And maybe perhaps some of the blue segmenting from the original TASM suit, but not in the same style as that first suit bc I don't mind additional color segmenting but I personally think the way the blue makes it's way onto the hands is much messier than if he were to just have webbed fingerless gloves (Similar to the Miles suit but blue instead of black) When the first movie made a point of showing that Peter used sunglasses to make the spider eyes, it doesn't bother showing how or why he made this new suit with big ass white eyes. Sorry if I took the piss out of you Probably Spider-Man, our lord and savior of costume design, but I wouldn't worry because I'm the only one to write anything this stupidly long so I don't think anyone is gonna read this shit. I still think this is the best on screen live action suit so I'm intrigued for you to convince me otherwise. Or what else you might say to point out the flaws of the suit or which points you agree with me on. Alright I've finished my essay and I'm ready to submit it.

When I first saw this suit I was slightly disappointed they went back to the classic look considering I love the first movie's design but over time it grew on me but I'm still not into the suit probably cause it's not different and unique like TASM1.

This suit happened because of the hate the TASM 1 suit got like you said on the previous video. Some concepts had big yellow eyes like in the first movie. I like TASM 2 movie but it makes the first movie like seperated universes without the darker tone it would supposedly have.

Awesome vid! You raise great points that I agree with completely. I still like the darker more purpley-red, but I agree that it doesn't really make for a friendly Spider-Man. Also, I know people love the huge lenses, but to me, there's just too much white. I wish the rims were thicker and tapered towards the nose like Bendis's drawings. And it also feels like they played it too safe with the design philosophy. It looks like an evolution of the Raimi suit rather than an evolution of the first movies suit. And with the first suit being it's own interpretation unlike anything we had ever seen before, it doesn't sit well with me. It obviously has the vastly different logos and lenses, but aside from that it follows Raimi's designs. Thus why it feels so safe to me. It's a beautiful suit regardless, but I like it because of it merely existing rather than because of it being included in the movie, if that makes sense.

The only big issue I have with it is the logo placement, and even though I actually don't like big lense designs, this is one of the suits I like it on. To be honest, I really like the dark red which seems on the cooler side of red. It works well with the dark and also extremely cool toned blue. I don't think saying a darker red on a classic suit should be a rule, because it doesn't make sense from a design standpoint, as the colours have to work with the tone, aesthetic (so basically the type of colour of the film) and also what other colours are used in it. A brighter red would not have worked in this specific film due to how they shot it and the scenes it was in, as weirdly enough (but cool) is that they focused more on the shiny aspect of it which worked well with electro. I would say besides the location of the logo, everything else on this suit is personal taste and is no way a more objective criticism. Like I said before, you can't critique the red as it is more of a preference for a brighter red than whether the suit looks good in it.

The only problem I have is the spider on the chest. I see no problem with the darker colors as it's better for when he's stealthy, like in the TASM2 game the suit almost blackens at night except for the lens.

If garfield had a 3rd movie or an updated version of the tasm 2 suit in no way home or a future project, Sony should seriously take those pointers. All in all, great work as always. I also adore this suit, but the little details you bring up *do* rack around in the back of my head at times. Also worth mentioning is that in this suit specifically the eyes aren't properly aligned in some shots. It's fine in a fast once action scene but in a more calm environment it irks me to no end

Honestly the darker colors is one of the things that make it better for me. The brigt red and light blue is too friendly

I was expecting you to talk about the back logo, but honestly I prefer that one over the fat bug one in the comics.

Most of my issues with this suit are really how different it was from the previous one. Everytime I look at it, it reminds me of how much it doesn't look at all like it's the same character. They should've at least taken the first one as a blueprint and evolved based on its design, changed just a little of the material. With each movie, make the eyes grow, make the blue parts shrink, make the colors pop out more, and DON'T use anything from the Raimi suit. Be original and stick to it. There's a reason why the first one looked so weird, it was giving him his own identity, and that was GREAT. They might not use the same material that makes it look like a basketball, but use something that looks better while keeping its functionality of aerodinamics and high resistance.

I would’ve preferred they just stick to grounded darker theme and keep/slightly update the original tasm suit, but this one is still amazing

y’all are never happy with anything istg. the red on his suit it unique and looks awesome your suit it too bright and childish almost like out of a younger kids cartoon however I kind of agree with the logo being to low however it does fit the suit and blends it well the only way to fix it would be to stretch it more or make it bigger in general which would ruin it. nothing is perfect but this is the closest we will get

I've always thought the logo was a bit too low but i think it should be the same material and color as the webbing. Also the fabrics are perfect imo. I love that the red is almost velvet-y but stretchy and gives off different shades of red under different lighting conditions. Brighter colors would ruin this suit for me honestly.

My only complaint about the suit is the logo being inches from being placed on the stomach rather than the chest.

The different black between the lenses and the logo is because the logo is designed out of rubber or something to be flexible accessible while the lens is a hard plastic Are something which provide the practical ability to keep dust out of his eyes when hes Is Web slinging

As someone who loves this suit and sucks it off shameless, I do agree with most of the things you said here, to some extent at least. However I feel as far as the logo, its shape and size means it's alright to be where it is, and it looks visually appealing right there and honestly might look off higher up because it's a lot different from the one you showed moving around. I absolutely agree with you on the emblem color most of all, though.

FYI. He probably wont like the homecoming suit that much, he's often said how he does not like the over complicated designts of the MCU suits etc.

The homecoming suit is the most comic accurate but this might be the best. It's really comic accurate yet realistic yet fresh and not a straight classic suit exactly. Even the web patterning is unique. Homecoming is still my favorite. Homecoming/Civil war

I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but... I liked the first suit more. It would have been better if we had a scene in the sequel where Peter improved the design with Gwen's help, of course.

I much prefer the darker colors, it gives more of a mature look. Which is one of the reasons why I never liked the mcu suits. They were too childish in their colors.

It’s not perfect, but nothing is. This is THE best costume in the entirety of Spider-Man’s movie appearances. It nails the comics’ look, it’s representative of Peter’s growth of a character so narratively speaking it has a reason to exist, and it looks like a fine mix of comic book and the more “realistic” looks of superhero costumes nowadays except it doesn’t have the main color palette scattered everywhere with lines that do fuck all for the design just as scattered everywhere. It has flaws that I agree with in your video, but it doesn’t discredit the suit at all as a design (and I’m sure that’s not your message despite commenters possibly misconstruing it to be “TASM2 suit bad).

Never liked this suit in all honesty. Hate how low the logo is. Hate how dim and dull the colors look. Hate the blue sides. Hate how giant and unexpressive the lenses are. Hate how pajama-like everything about it looks. It even looks more like a suit that an inexperienced Peter would throw together, much more than the TASM1 suit, which makes zero sense.

I think the red's richness and like you said, lighting variations makes up for the darker shade. The logo placement is a bit low, but it fits nicely with the shape of the torso. I like how the logo is the same color as the webbing, and I like the way the webbing is contrasted by the darker lenses. Great video though, not my favorite suit.

I always thought that ppl didn't appreciate what we had with the TASM1 suit! The TASM2 suit is just a less accurate version of the Raimi Red suit! The only better thing about it is the bigger lenses, everything else is inaccurate

i never liked the grey dull webbing and the type of "dark red" they used for the tasm 2 suit, and the webbing didnt have a unique pattern to them unlike the rami suit from SM2, also the webbing just makes the suit look waaay too slim. and the cartoonish bright eyes clashes with the darker/realistic tones of the suit. Also andrew had to wear a helmet for the suit and it made his head way bigger that in some shots spider-man looked like a bobble head. And obviously the suit is trying to pander to rami fans while trying to be its own suit, and it just doesnt look as good for the reasons i already stated

I think this suit is great, but it looks a bit too similar to the Raimi suit to really stand out. I loved the TASM 1 suit for how much it was different but still looked like a Spider-Man costume to me. I think if they cleaned up some of the lines and changed the lenses to white, it would have been even better to me. I do agree with your points here though.
