I swear Sussie is the smartest person in the show. She just wants to live her way so she acts hella weird. This isn’t even the first time they learn a lesson like this from her

I think I finally realized what I love about this episode: Gumball and Darwin already accept Sussie for what she is, but they just wanted to change her because they knew other people wouldn't be so open to her quirks, it was kind of a noble effort.

man this actually made me cry a lot. I was first diagnosed as autistic when I was still a little kid. I just discovered this episode through another video and it actually brought me to tears. I'm not the only person diagnosed with autism in my family (three of my brothers have it), so idk just watching this makes me feel seen in a way. I'm still working through my experiences with autism at 18, especially with my boyfriend who isn't neurodivergent. man now I'm getting emotional again, haha. overall my favorite episode to date. Edit: Holy fuck this got so many likes who are you people lmfao XDD. Also, bit of a life update, things got better for me. I'm 20, still discovering myself everyday, and leaning more into my hobbies and hyperfixations. Just starting to learn to not care about what others think of me and to just be me. And my only hope is that others like me will have similar experiences to mine and will be able to be free to be themselves.

I've watched Gumball since the first season as a kid, however by the time this episode came out I had already moved onto different shows. It wasn't until just the other day I watched this episode for the first time. And damn the timing could not have been more perfect. I'm 20 years old and I only recently got diagnosed as autistic. It was... an experience. I've always felt like the actual way I perceived and understood the world around me was dramatically different than everyone else. Like I was on a different layer of reality that was only separated by glass, muffling any voice I tried to hear, or make myself. Growing up, I was taught "there's no glass between us, you're just dumb. You'll be less dumb when you become an adult." Spoiler, I didn't become less "dumb." I was still autistic, now just with a good thing of trauma along with it. I felt completely broken. Like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't human like everyone else. It was horrible. It still feels horrible. Knowing what I know now, this song really speaks to me in a way I've never heard before. The idea that even if you perceive the world so differently to the point where it's difficult to navigate, that can still be beautiful. Not cause it's secretly better, but because it's you. That... that really resonates with me.

I’m 43, going on 44 so I definitely missed the window to watch this as a child. But this show is an absolute masterpiece. The different animation styles brought together and the wide variety of characters and story lines all existing in one ecosystem is really inspiring. It quirky, funny, cute, wholesome, easy to identify with, well acted, and just a good time for children and adults. It’s not just mindless TV to entertain for half an hour, it incorporates lessons that are delicate but not heavy handed. The characters are not just part of the background and one dimension, they are nuanced. They also do a great job of developing them so that not only do you feel invested in them, but that you actually care about them. Any show can make you laugh, but very few can make you laugh and think. It truly is an Amazing World of Gumball.

Edit: hello, i doubt anyones gonna read this, but recently at the age of 20 i got diagnosed with autism. I've known something was "off" with me for a while but finally have confirmation as to why that is. Navigating the adult world with autism is something else. As a kid people can just brush off your "weird" mannerisms as things you'll grow out of, but now you're an adult and expected to be mature. It's hard, it always feels like other people know things I don't. I just watched gumball clips out of sheer boredom and, well, found this comment from years ago. While this song made me happy back then, now, its driving me to tears. I ate bugs, I collected rocks, I chewed on everything in sight, I'd collect little random things I found (washers, bolts, old computer and mechanical parts, anything interesting to me lol) and I was always generally different. Being autistic is hard, I always felt like everyone knew something I didn't, everyone saw things differently than me. I had watched gumball as a kid, but only up to season 3, and Sussie didn't have as much development back then. I'm glad I got back into the show and found this song and this episode

This is definitely the most wholesome and best show they have for sure. It shows that no matter how different another person might be to you, you might not understand what goes on until you seen it through their eyes. And I loved it. Sussie is definitely a funny character in general of the show, but after seeing this, I totally see her in a different way. Sussie is awesome!

I love how this song is animated. It's like a frame-by-frame crayon drawing with so many awesome artstyles. It gets simpler and simpler, a great contrast from the "real" animated world. I think it's a good reflection on how neurodivergent people see the world, always changing and twisting as new things are learned and perspectives are formed.
