@@BrianBaileyedtech I'm not saying people can't go there but if you know Kurt well, he always go to places where the locals warned him not to go, man is brave, he is from Capetown, he is from Capetown he has seen a lot of crime. There was a video he took his Venezuelan ex marianny to a very dangerous barrio in her country, even the girl who wasa Venezuelan was scared for her life. Yes you are right that people are same everywhere but you have to understand that some places are no go area, even the local police don't go there, but Kurt goes there and he said it at the beginning of this video that people warned him not to go but for people who knows him well he always go to dangerous places.

most people in the world are friendly , show respect and you will be fine. cant live in fear
@oneworld90715 ай бұрын
there is something to be said for not conveying to people that they should be feared. ironic it may seem, but there can be an element of insult to some. it is fear and only fear that seeds prejudice, anger, jealousy, etc. many, many (Caucasian-American) people have NO idea what they're missing in "other" cultures. One most rewarding experience of my life was when I worked in a full-service gas station in a pretty vast Chicano area in Los Angeles area. While other white workers walked away when Chicanos came for gas (this is before "self-serve"), I treated them same as "VIP" customers. They were in disbelief...... shock....... My Guatemalan coworker/friend said to me one day, "everybody in this part of town knows who you are...... you treat them with respect, you even TRY to speak Spanish...... it matters more than you know......". THAT, to me, is the definition of spiritual experience. That simple.

It was both enjoyable and saddening to watch your video and revisit a place I travelled to 20 years ago. I spent one year in Brazil, actually living a mostly normal life as a student and a couple months of travel. What always stood out was that there trash collecting was a high priority in most places I lived in or visited, and the cities were constantly being swept clean by employed cleaners. I remember returning to Canada after a year and being appalled to see trash all along our highways as I drove home from the airport. I can see that from your video perhaps that has changed for the worse... trash in the street and river and historical buildings needing some care... but something that has endured - the amazing friendly personalities of the Brasilheros! Always friendly and welcoming and willing to try to communicate with me in my broken Portuguese. I visited the same Pirarucu farm you did, perhaps purchased a guarana from the same vendor you did. I look forward to seeing more and meeting more of the great people of Brasil!
@ParkersAntics6 ай бұрын
I lived in the south of Brazil for a couple years, and while in general the city was really clean, there was trash everywhere. People would pull off the highway and dump a load right off the side. And so often there were piles of burning trash everywhere. The city did its best to keep up, but it was sad to see that the people didn’t really have a whole lot of options and also just didn’t care. When I came back to the states, I remember distinctly thinking how clean everything was and how while there might’ve been the occasional piece of litter, in general people were much better about taking care of their community and not leaving tons of trash everywhere.

Kurt has absolutely been killing it in Latin America when it comes to travels. That being said, I really wish he would branch out into the remaining countries like Chile and Uruguay.

I lived in the Amazon basin for 20 years and some of that time was in Manaus. I can't believe that even though it has been 10 years it looks almost the same. Could not believe how low the water was though. It used to come all the way up to the top of that wall during the high season. I have never seen it look like that before. I worry for all the little villages that rely on the river both for their livelihood as well as for transportation.

Man I don't mean to be puffin' smoke here, but I consider myself lucky I stumbled upon your channel. Now, I consider myself 98% spiritual, 1% religious, 1% skeptical... but you are a manifestation of spiritual substance. Your manner and insight are visible from a long distance to people with a particularly keen awareness of such attributes. At the most simple I can make it, these are some of what (Highest Power) digs.... you do what and how it should be around this world. And it can't be more simple and easy.... just "BE" and there's light. It takes a lot of pointless effort to darken someone's day, and so little effort for friendship to manifest. Yes, of course there's exceptions and hit shappens, :) but man you are connected and sharing nothing but good vibes.

How many times has Kurt actually been robbed? I have watched quite a few videos and he seems to make it unscathed. He knows the power of just being friendly and walking fast in scenarios so he isn't a target.

As a Brazilian my self, I have two things to say you: 1 - I didn´t know that people in Manaus are sooo friendly like that. They were all very nice to you. The guy shaving you beard was so kind and the other guy said to him: carefully, slow. Also the guys selling you the stuffs. They didn´t ask you more money because you are gringo. They charged you the right price. So thanks for letting us know it. 2 - I don´t know if you are very naif or if you have some steel balls between your legs, but, get into a favela like that can be sooooo dangerous. But, geting into a favela like that filming?! Oh boy! :)
