After US troops withdrew without notifying them, Afghan soldiers guarding the Bagram Air Base have been left with thousands of Taliban prisoners and a certainty that the enemy will attack.

@@filmfilm86 The Taliban are not "crazy sandals with guns" well okay...THEY are...but the real threat is the IDEOLOGY. How do you kill a thought? An idea? It stirs in the hearts and minds of men, like COVID...it's an invisible enemy. It doesn't matter about the physical body in front of you but the idea of an interpretation of a religion that's causing global terror. Education is the only way, guns unfortunately are not the answer here. If you use force with force you only create a cycle of hatred. To break that cycle you have to educate the naïve. This is also hard to do when the Taliban are burning down schools and only allow education from the Quran. This is how they keep power, through fear and force.

Whenever we turned over bases and equipment to the Afghans they were not able to maintain it without continued support. To say that Americans took everything when they left is obscuring the fact that even if we did leave them behind it wouldn't last long as they won't be able to maintain them to begin with.

I hear a lot of people saying oh we left this they couldn't fix what we left, the Taliban have MRAPS and Blackhawks! Here's the simple fact, Who cares. We lost that war from the start, I spent 3 years over there and lost a lot of friends and a lot of my own blood. Personally I'm glad its finished, we should've left that place 10 years ago. let the Afghanis figure it out. let the Taliban run things, I could care less. I just wish it didn't have to take 20 years to figure out that its a lost cause. Hell most people don't even know what 911 is or care for that matter. I remember, and Ill never forget it, and ill never forgive what the last 4 presidents did to end it, or more importantly didn't do.
