Very interesting tour. Lived near a Amish community. One time when gas prices were high I said to a Amish friend. Gas is high. He looked at me and said "so is oats" 😂 Never got paddled in school but, should have 🤔🙄

That is funny. I guess oats do get expensive. I never got in trouble in school either I always knew if I did I would be in bigger trouble when I got home. Thanks for watching 😎 😎

I never comment, but you bought back a memory... I'm71. I went to a 3 room school house in the Blue Ridge mountains in SW VA. I wrote a note saying that "Ronnie is a little devil" and drew a picture of one. I passed it to my friend. My teacher caught me. She kept after school and gave me 3 licks with her paddle that had holes in it. When I got home and told my Mama, she had a hissy fit. She didn't even spank me lol. My teacher's name was Mrs.Spangler and she just passed away at 103 yrs old. One of the most loved people in my life!!!

Years ago, I went to the Amish country and I remember a few facts, don't know if they still do this or not. When a man married, he grew a beard. When a son got married, they just built a room onto the house. The houses back then did not even have electricity, don't know if any of these facts still exist or not. They used to go to Kentucky to get their horses that used to be race horses. They did not like to have their picture taken either. I loved the Amish country, like taking a step back in time. Thank you for sharing.

Enjoyed this a lot! I get to visit an Amish school from time to time in the eastern part of Lancaster County. It's an amazing experience, radically different from non-Amish schools. The children do see learning as fun, though. Most of them LOVE school and spend a lot of time "playing" school at home.

As always, we enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking us places we can’t travel to at the moment. I’m a recently retired teacher so I know that, at least in Nova Scotia, cursive writing is still taught - but not to the extent that we focused on as students ourselves. Teachers are pretty busy feeding kids and looking after just about every other physical and mental need you can imagine ;) Have a wonderful Easter 🐣

VAL (SOUTH AFRICA) VERY WELL SAID. TEACHERS ARE BORN, I HAVE NOT GOT THE PATIENCE!!!! MY LATE HUSBAND WAS A HEAD MASTER OF A SCHOOL FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN AND LOTS OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE STILL TEACHERS, THEY ALL DO WORK EXTREMELY HARD, ALMOST NO TIME FOR THEMSELVES. THANKS FOR THE BIG ROLE YOU ALSO PLAYED IN THE "TEACHING WORLD". (NOT EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND, APPRECIATE AND RESPECT A TEACHER'S ROLE). THIS IS THE REASON WHY I CHOSE TO DO SOCIAL WORK AND ENDED UP IN LAW. - LOL. GOD BLESS AND A HAPPY EASTER. FROM VAL IN SOUTH AFRICA👌😍 PS I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND SEMINARS ON OTISM WITH HIM WHICH I AM VERY INTERESTED IN AND IT WAS VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE, STILL DO RESEARCH ON THAT.

(SAW THE AMISH FARM VIDEO OF YOURS) AS WELL, SO I'VE ALREADY LEARNT A BIT OF THE AMISH PEOPLE, BUT NOT ENOUGH THOUGH!! THEY ARE VERY INTERESTING PEOPLE AND THEIR BELIEFS. (VERY PRIMITIVE). THE SCHOOL BROUGHT BACK SOME MEMORIES OF MY SCHOOL DAYS AS WELL. IT'S WONDERFUL THAT THEY ALSO CARE FOR THE ANIMALS. I LOVE THE PEACOCKS ALWAYS, LUCKILY I HAVE THE GUINEAFOWL TRAIL BEHIND MY HOME, I ALSO FEED THEM (LOTS OF PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD DOES) AND THEY ALSO MAKE A GOOD LOT OF NOISE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY NOTICE ME LATE IN THE EVENING, GOT TO HIDE FROM THEM - LOL, BUT I ADORE THEM. LOVE ANIMALS SO MUCH. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR AN EXCELLENT TOUR WITH YOU GUYS I LOVE TO SEE HOW PEOPLE LIVE AND LEARN ABOUT THEM (VERY INQUISITIVE IN THAT WAY) 👀 I THINK AMISH COUNTRY IS A MUST GO TO PLACE. Enjoyed that video tour. Too bad people don't teach their children those lessons anymore. I was taught that. I did get paddled in 12th grade at school for fighting in the girls locker room. My parents didn't spare the "rod" ie belt or hand. Telling a lie was our greatest transgression. Learned early to tell the truth and follow rules and laws.

I went to school in South Jersey. Teachers were old school and didn't play. They would snatch you up in a NY minute and then got it when you got home.
