Dostal is a much better goalie at this time! He deserves to start in net game one of the season. He has earned it and was our clear #1 goalie last season.

Dostal was a brick wall at the championship, nerves of steel, he even tried to score an empty-netter in the finals! I hope he will get at least half of the starts.

Ducks also have 5 more goalies 22 and under signed right now: Clang, Clara, Suchanek, Buteyets, and Alexander. It’s going to be hot competition to see who get the top and backup spot in San Diego, as well as trying to make it to the Ducks squad.

I still love Gibby, I'd be worn out too if I was constantly having 45+ shots coming at me a night. Definitely like the idea of having a split between Dostal and Gibby, similar to Ullmark and Swayman, hopefully with the same results as the latter.

Gibson seems like an absolutely perfect fit for a team like the Sens. One thing we must do is upgrade our Dcore and I believe Gibson has a lot left in the tank but he needs to be on a better team to do that. I think Dostal is the best goalie "prospect" (even over Wallstedt and Askarov) and he's more than earned the net in Anaheim. Hope we are able to get him if so 🙏

It’s tough…I was someone that thought we should have considered trading him back when the Ducks started spiraling when he was in his prime to get some assets for him, but who knows what the right decision would’ve been. I really like Dostal’s game and I do think it’s great to keep Gibby around to have two solid goaltenders in there if they want to make a run at the playoffs next year like Verbeek wants them to. Next question is…who do they add to the roster to help make that happen?

I hope that the competition for the number one spot will be healthy for Gibby, he's been there for us and he deserves to be given a chance to comeback with a better team. After everything he's been through the ducks he deserves that chance.

The Ducks goalie situation is one of the simplest and best in the league IMO as is. Gibson can become 1A and Dostal 1B (if its not already the case), but I think that what will happen is Gibson is G1 and Dostal G2 (wether you wanna trade him or not, that's a beneficial rotation, and it can also be changed as needed). In addition, Gibson doesn't only have value as a Goalie here, but also as a mentor for Dostal, and that's his biggest value for this team right now. His impact won't be limited to only Dostal of course. Basically, I'm saying Gibson is a leader in that room. I'm convinced he will end his contract a Duck.

I just want the Boston situation with Ullmark and Swayman - two good goalies who are like a team and helping each other. Dostal can get a lot of experience from Gibson and Gibson having a young geered goalie by his side, can get the desire again to be better. It will be hard but I believe it is possible.

I wanna see Gibson succeed with this new core of Ducks. But it’s a tough business and I hope he gets dealt to a team that can make deep playoff runs. I’d love to see Gibson back in the playoffs

Dosty is that guy now, and has a way better contract. Dosty also played more games than gibby last year. You can't have a 6.4 contract as a backup. But I still think that the ducks should keep him until they reach a point where they aren't a rebuilding team anymore and are actually close to the cap space, the reason being is because when Matt Murray became a starter for the penguins, people thought fleury would be moved, but Murray became injury prone and wasn't the guy anymore. If fleury didn't get drafted by Vegas then I think the pens might have won another cup or two, remember how good he was on Vegas.

I think we must be keep Gibby now because trade value its not the best at this time and in market is many goalie right now. And we have a good situation because we have two great goalie and have a lot capspace. I think gibby can be one of the best goalie in nhl and its not worth trade him right now if we wants to trade gibby it must be already done about two years ago.

The way I think about it is that Gibson is the more athletic goalie, Dostal is the more technical goaltender. If we are being outshot by 15 every game a technical goaltender is better. If we out-possess the other team but give up more odd man rushes we want an athletic goalie. More than anything we need more offense. If we can move Gibson for a top 6 player that can contribute day 1, then the team is likely better.

Didn'ät you get Damian clara from Brynäs if ? he took up brynäs to the highest level in Sweden and is a great goalie saved brynäs.

Goalie stats are more a team stat than an individual stat. Put him on a good team and he will be good again.

Gibson biggest problem the last few years have been health. Look at his season starts the last 3 seasons, last year he was hot for the first month. Year before for like 2 months. Year before that hot till the all star break. The ducks would best be served with a true tandem for next season. Sit both goalies down and say the plan is to start every other game, no matter what unless injuries. This will give both goalies zero uncertainties on when they may or may not play and instead of a competition a true team where they could help each other out and root for each other. Kind of like what the Boston tandem has.

The worst thing to ever happen to Gibson's career was signing that long term contract in Anaheim. Yeah, he's been paid well but, he was thrown to the wolves by his organization and by the time he got fed up and was ready to move on his trade value was so low that no one wanted him at that cap hit. He had so much promise early in his career...

Gibson needs a new scenery…love the guy but I think the East coast is a better fit. NJ is looking and might be a good fit. New Era …new Ducks…new lead goalie. Plus, frees up more cap space for a big forward and defense free agent buy.

I think Gibby gave up on the Ducks along time ago. Nobody is going to take on his cap hit and for what we would have to retain we might as well keep him. I would love to see him go to a good team. I think on a different team he would be a completely different player. Ducks need to bring in another veteran D man and someone who can score. Having a bright future does noting for us now. Cutter is hopefully going to turn out to be the superstar we need. Max Jones looked decent at times last season but I think it is time to move on from him.

I don’t have any faith in Gibson. I knew it was over when we needed him to step up during Getzlaf’s season and close to a playoff spot and he shit the bed.
