Andy La Rocque for me is one of the most underrated guitar player in history. I saw him playing live twice and the man is freaking machine, ever solo, note by note exactly like the record.

Simply a complete guitarist. So humble. He doesn't show off or anything like that, just talking about the guitars, quite unusual. His sense of focus on melodies in his solos is absolutely astonishing, really. He knows what, when. One of my favourites, without a doubt. A shame you can't use the official music to show off some of what he can do. It takes away a lot, sorry to say.

Very cool. King Diamond/Mercyful Fate fan for years. Two V's here, IBZ RR Sr and Cort Arrow. Michael Denner did ads for these back in the '80s. Loved Andy giving the history of the white '78, complete with mentioning a headstock repair. Some folks may recall the That Metal Show installment with Michael Schenker and Kirk Hammett. Krk had the PG/GM LP and said it had a head stock repair. Michael said his main V with UFO and beyond had like 3 repairs and each time he got it back, it sounded better! Crazy. It's great Andy is sponsered by Dean. I thought they were on the ropes after Gibson stepping in. Rock ON!!

There's David Gilmour, the master of sensitive guitar playing. And then we have Adrian Smith and Andy La Roque. Two guys who have complete control on their left hand. I met Andy once when he played in my area as I worked as a stage hand for KD. I drove the King from- and back to the hotel that night. The King was such a lovely and nice down to earth man. Haven't talked to Andy though, but I was blown away from their soundcheck. They played "The Eye" inclusive his marvellous solo, while all amps where set on 10. Brutally clear and loud sound. Out of his many solos that he did in my opinion the best one was for "Trapped In A Corner" by Death. Holy S...those haunting ghost guitars, always doulbed ones like on all the KD albums, but embedded inside a different rythm pattern. Andy for sure is an underrrated guitar player. Thank you for this amazing interview video!
