We start with the big one, discussing the latest updates on BHP-Anglo, before checking in on Liontown’s (LTR) update.
It’s off to Sierra Leone next for the latest twists and turns in the Fumble in the Jungle (SRX), and onto Boss Energy’s (BOE) opaque management departures and lastly, Ardea (ARL) who pulled in a big cheque to run a DFS for their Kalgoorlie Nickel Project.

There's alot more depth to the ARL play than you've covered here guys. Current closures are all based on unsustainable models in relation to the nickel prices. The ARL HPAL plant will be able to beat the cheap Chindo operations at scale, easily. And with the western world lobbying hard to delineate dirty nickel from green nickel, it seems the highest ESG standards of ARL will almost need to become the normal operating protocol. If the best possible partners in the world SMM and MC are prepared to fork out almost $100m after doing 2 years of due diligence, it's pretty obvious the story checks out.

Just because the MOM folk can’t understand the Sumitomo decision to JV with Ardea - doesn’t mean anything . Just shows they don’t understand 1) the tech being brought to the table for processing 2) the resource itself 3) the long term thematics for Nic/co demand 4) The geopolitical and financing benefits. I could go on…..

YOus should do separate episode about Ardea and there are a lot of investors who could share their knowledge. Laugh, if it's worth laughing and it's clear what is going on. I just point out some information that pops up in my mind at the moment: 1) Majority of nickel mines use old mills and technology. This HPAL plant will be the most modern in the world 2) We can't predict accurately future mineral price, but we can predict AISC which will be 6000 USD/ton. With current nickel price it's more than 3x lower AISC and would extend initial 3.2 year payback period to around 5 years. When going one on one with Indonesian mines, majority of them would go under care and maintenance. There are couple Indonesian mines that could compete with ARL in the future. And in general, there are not lot of mines that could show more than 3x lower AISC from mineral/product market price. 3) ARL in it's nickel process is going to use it's goethite ore, which is their own patent pending solution. It replaces limestone import and it's going to be the only company in the future to use this solution and keep AISC low. 4) Railroad is going straight through the mine and gaspipe line is nearby which makes it excellent location 5) Annual output is going to be higher than 30kt, because plant will be at least 4Mtpa 6) ARL in general has proven reserves of more than 500 000 kg of scandium. Scandium and REE in goongarrie hub will be byproducts and not considered in PFS. 7) Macroeconomical tensions puts ARL in favourable position. Industrial countries are in urge to secure long term mineral supply. That's why different parties are praising the project because it tightens overseas relations and won't be burden for government because of remarkably low AISC. 8) SMM sold out a deal in Indonesia last year. It's not about wether they can or can't get in. It's about ESG, secure and long-term supply chain. SMM and MC executives are one of the most brilliant minds in the world. If they are willing to do the deal, sure there is something more in the background than just capex and current nickel price. Can't say JC is desperate and they just pile money in, hoping nickel price will improve

Anyone have any insight on why BHP wouldn't take a run at Freeport McMoran? If they were in to copper that seems like a better pure copper play than Anglo, with a lot less baggage, with the possible exception of Grasberg in Indonesia.

LTR C1 around $650 per DMT SC6 estimated, in Sept 23 Q report. So some wiggle room. Shorters have piled in hoping for problems or weak Lit price. Around US1300 atm I think.

Sumitomo and Mitsubishi have spent 2 years doing due diligence and then committed 98.5 million, fair enough you don’t think it’s a goer but to just flick it off and suggest they can’t read a spreadsheet makes you look 2 short of a six pack. It’s potentially a massive WA project why don’t you get Andrew on from Ardea and give it a decent run. If you only want to have conversations when projects built, operating and producing free cashflow it’s going to be pretty lame content. Thought you blokes we’re about deep dives and going ball’s deep into projects. How about you load up on the Horny Goat Weed and have another look at Ardea.
