Animal Well Part 3 - my arsenal of unique items continues, and it doesn't stop with the animal flute! I find two new items this episode, and uncovering the consequences proves to be a great time. The animal flute in particular seems like it's hiding something really important.

There's an even more advanced version where you do a pixel perfect jump on the edge of the spikes (which I did, stubbornly not trying my tools)

@sunbleachedangel it's not actually that infuriating, he just makes a lot of weird choices, like not trying to get the flame before moving on, or the way he handled the vertical spike sections. He just plays this game in such a peculiar way and I need to study him in a scientific setting because of it

@@Yokozai Fortunately the editing more than makes up for that because the time from "he missed the flame" to "he got the flame" was like 5 seconds or something. And as someone who has not played this game at all and doesn't know what he does right or wrong it's definitely a lot "easier on the mind"

Anytime you realize you can do a thing. You should try every other item to see if it can be used to do a thing too. Every item has multiple uses. Also, get used to paying attention every detail of each room. Something you think might be a thing, is always a thing.

A Jethro Tull reference? Very, very nice. I'm impressed with how much this game can do with fairly basic components. And frankly, it looks really good. I'm normally very leery of pixel art graphics, they almost never work for me, but this game really nails the minimalistic aesthetic hiding a lot of little things under the surface.

Minimialistic aesthetic hiding a lot of little things under the surface is just about the best descriptor for it honestly, this thing runs so much deeper than it looks and discovering it all is an absolute treat from start to finish.

@@techesh2165 Floor is Lava ... im pretty sure you have to learn to jump and bubble at the same time to make that work. Ascending even with the BB wand requires jump+bubble.

I love this game because it’s a state of the art with procedural animation and physics but it masks itself as an old 2d game. This is the type of game only possible today which makes it so exciting that they made it a good game as well. Haven’t been this excited about an adventure game in a long time

@@gmdFrame What's the intended method? It felt pretty intended to me, since everything lines up nicely. You're pushing both chinchillas at once, while simultaneously being able to jump out of their lines of sight so they don't walk back towards you

@gmdFrame There is no "intended". Multiple methods work because that's how it was designed, since you can't know what items a player will or won't have in that moment. That's the beauty of metroidvanias.

I'm sure you probably completed the game, I love the path how you have taken so far, I'm genuinely gonna stick the series out. Such a cool game. Without spoiling too much if you haven't completed or discovered yet. I highly recommend checking out your other items and finding out what else they can do to help you in your later discoveries. There's definitely one of the items so far I'm just itching for you to use more (but that's me, probably just cause it's my favorite tool lol). Still crazy to see that there's just so many different solutions to many of these scenarios. Seems like everyone with have a completely different path and experience with all these cool gadgets

once the credits roll you are not even half way done. once they roll again, you are still not done. this is the smallest 100+ hours content game that i know.
