Today I'm in Tamworth in the first of a two part mini-trip down to Buckinghamshire. And I'm getting it on with The Anker Fish Bar's giant chippy challenge!
60 minutes to chomp through a mountain of chips, one large deep fried haddock fillet, a stack of buttered bread and four pots of goo of your choice (beans, curry sauce, mushy peas and/or gravy). Finish it inside the time limit and the meal isn't necessarily free, but you get to stick your hand in their prize pot...some prizes are a bit naff and some aren't. Either way, I was determined to get the opportunity to put my hand in their bowl!

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

@Martin I agree with the meaning of your comment but JC is not the best competitive eater: he is the best at hot dogs and unfortunatelly that's what is broadcasted at ESPN ( they even compare his world titles with Rafael Nadal... ). If he had zero personality it wouldn't bother me. He would just be an eating machine. It is negative and this is not good for the whole picture.

It’s a combination of the narration and presentation style. He has created something that is both easy to watch and at the same time gripping enough to want to see it through to its conclusion, all while stuffing his face in a quite visceral way. Props to him!

Here's a tip I recommend for most videos on youtube. If you put the video speed on 1.5 it quickens the pace up a lot, but leaves the audio easy enough to hear most of the time.

@@filmntvguy1977 To me it is mainly that he isn't setting it up as a show (like Man v Food or such), but just goes for it. Nice interaction with staff/customers/Mrs. Beard during the challenge and a nice humour, that you wouldn't find on channels run by TV studios

Watching this for a second time after our competitive eating queen took this challenge up. This challenge is no joke. The Tactics for going for bread first or last, chip consumption pacing, when and where to use the sides... it's more technical than we realize to make it through this one.

This here lies the confusing. In the UK, Thick cut potato slices in this form we call chips, The thin slices we call fries. And potato slices in round form we call crisps. Ask me the behind of scenes of this? I don't know lol But there you go.

He's an entertaining guy and I understand why you enjoy his videos. I like them too. If you really want to be free from depression though you need to give your life to God. Without God as the center of our lives we will fall to sin. Sin is the transgression of God's law and causes us to feel separated from Him. As God is also the God of hope, we can have our hope diminished or even lose it altogether. I've been through virtually no hope whatsoever for years when I was an atheist after my parents divorce. It wasn't until I repented of my sins and called out to God to reveal the truth to me, that God healed my heart and gave me an eternal purpose and reason for living in the here and now. The Bible says... Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” If you put your faith in Christ's finished work on the cross to forgive you of your sins, you will be saved from death and hell and granted eternal life. if it was cod its about £20/kg and haddock around £15/kg unprepared that fish was easily 2lbs/900g then add the prep time other ingredients sides £30 for that is very reasonable

I've been watching for a long while now. This dude has a unique talent for efficient way of making food disappear. Like basically the Harlem globetrotters of doing so. Putting him up against pretty much the best in this category, would be unfair. He just about stands alone..
