Q: EY, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN FOR TWO MONTHS NOW?
A: Please don’t shout. I’m trying to finish the new book and a video on relativity, but they’re proving tricky. It’s where the majority of my time is going. I hope you’ll accept this video as a little peace offering. New videos, t-shirts with pithy and subversive slogans, and a book (did I mention a book?) will be out when they’re ready, and I’m working my jolly damndest to make them ready.
Cheers for being patient and hope you’re doing excellently in any case.

I am one year away of officially becoming an English Teacher, and when I tell my students that what I expect from them is to develop a passion (or at least the understanding of this passion) for the pursuit of knowledge, I will print and read them this story right here. And when the year finishes and they're all nice and done with me, I'll read it to them again. If they won't find you and your goddamn precious work, I'll point them to it. I don't know about all of your viewers, but when I tell you that, in a time where an outgoing, attractive and trendy personality development becomes just as or more important than introspection, knowing oneself, caring for oneself, let me tell you that you remind me how important that is. Your work is as beautiful as you as a human being. Thanks for being a thing in the world.

I’m currently a sophomore in high school. Almost every English class I’ve encountered is a boring class and English has always been difficult for me. (I am more of a math guy) but I had one English teacher who was a great teacher with passion and she inspired students to learn. She did not have a seating chart and didn’t mind when students socialized. We would have a lot of class discussions not only about literature and stuff like that, but about topics that were real and familiar to students. She would join in conversation with students and felt closer than the rest of the teachers. She felt not like a distant tyrant who would punish those who did not fall into line, but like a responsible friend who held you accountable for your mistakes. She was the best teacher I’ve had. Just some advice from a student on how to be a great teacher. (This was in 8th grade if you’re wondering)

For those that didnt knew: Flat-Earthers exist in 2022 still and are just one brand of Anti-Science or Pseudo-Science - but even they experiment. They just fail every single time cause they dont know how to experiment. A curious thing to observe, really.

This is one of the best takes on Plato's allegory of the cave ive heard. This is how you represent the importance of knowledge, the human thirst for knowing that which we could never understand and the idea that true knowledge can only be obtained through philosophical reasoning, all in one short story! Also, it makes me wonder what a possible super evolved alien life-form would think of us when we dont even concider life forms below our selves. Great story man!
@mikuprincess9107
@mikuprincess9107 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe thinking this way is a humanly thinking, think we have less knowledge so we will see things from less knowledgeable point of view thus making assumptions that others's point of view will be same as us but maybe a super evolved alien life form could see things from a different perspective and will not be like us
@combatpanda4264
@combatpanda4264 3 жыл бұрын
@@mikuprincess9107 maybe this is the common way of thinking for a third dimensional bieng. We're concerned only by what we see, hear, and feel. Our thoughts are formed in and around everything that we are confined to. Such as the natural senses, physical space(that we take up) and time. But a 4th dimensional bieng would probably not think like we do. As they would not be confined by the same things. Perhaps a 4th dimensional bieng is still subject to space between its realm and ours but time becomes irrelivent to them. Perhaps it isn't until a 5th dimension that consciousness forms at its finest and nothing is as it is here.

I kinda don't like the statements like "we don't consider life forms below ourselves". It is not true, people (vary smart people) study all kinds of life on earth. We are tied to them ancestrally. The more we understand them, more we understand ourselves as well. Some of us even go to great lengths to spread awareness about certain species and to preserve them from human kind. An average Joe is oblivious to the animals around them does not mean we as a collective human civilization do not care/study about them.

I love the small "easter egg" at the end. When the celestial being says, "Well, it's like this...", the music doesn't immediately fade out. Instead, it goes back to the image of the ant, comparing us to it, we have a lot of similarities (Sorry for being Capt. Obvious). But we could still hear music and faint whispers, signifying that we truly won't understand the meaning of life even if we were spoonfed it.

ender slot I read somewhere that ants, being so small, probably don’t have the ability to comprehend us (also because due to their size they don’t have very high ‘brain’ function compared to other living things). When an ant crawls on you it’s no different to walking on any other surface. So yeah, like you said, if you think of it like this then it’s highly plausible that we are like ants living amongst something much larger.
