I hear people say the reality labs spending is all gravy. I did some digging into the br headsets that are currently made by meta. There are over 80,000 reviews and 97% of them are 5 star. People love the vr headsets now. Imagine 5 years from now with billions of research behind it. I'm kind of excited for the potential. Does no one else see it this way?

You just make assumptions on revenue growth , margins , earnings and cashflow without looking into industry trend, cost structure, pricing power , R&D which are all ( especially R&D) important and massive for Meta.

Bro it sold off because of the massive spend with absolutely no input from company on biz model for meta verse and how they will monetize....mark doesnt want to be told what to do so uncertainty on spend and further pressure on ad spend will keep pushing down

META fell because their operating margins shrunk due to stalled revenue growth and metaverse spending while also increasing CAPEX, resulting in severely decreased FCF...investors believe this is temporary, morons believe this is permanent impairment.

What about trends, in EU areas not in favor of the data collection & advertising from likes of Meta, and future potential areas talked about here that encourage their own state-benefitting enterprises, the core user age / profile (best metrics is in NA high disposable income etc.), advertiser preference for better targeting (Google and Amazon are both more directly targeted for conversion), and Meta's own bet on VR & other dev costs targeted for their NA market NOT those other potential markets, for the next decade at least...?

In my opinion, META can't be priced on past cash flows since they were predicated on being centered around ad revenue. The Zuck is now shifting away from ad focus to Metaverse, which is a bottomless cash sink, and now needs to be priced like a kick to the nuts.
