About 15% or less now use Irish as primary language in Ireland. The south-west, west, and north-west most notably.

Do you mean “Gaelic”? Irish isn’t a language it’s term for the population of a country.

@hoho69 Irish is no longer Ireland's primary language I'm afraid. There are Irish speaking regions called 'Gaeltachts,' but the majority of the country speaks English now. It is a shame, but that's the way it is. TG4 is an all-Irish speaking television station in Ireland, whereas RTÉ 1, 2, and TV3 (on which The Apprentice is shown) are all-English speaking :-)

I have a question. Why didn't they film the series in Irish and have English subtitles?I'm glad they didn't though. Is it that Irish is not the primary language?

English is the prime mainstay language plus the people in the north ( who is part of the UK) be watching this so TV3 would probably want them as part of the TV audience.
