I'm Malaysian. I can safely say that driller is a Chinese Malaysian or Singaporean. And I sincerely advise him to get in touch with brother Firdaus wong from MRM (multiracial Revert Muslim) in Malaysia for more clarification. Brothers in the panel here unfortunately are not quite trained in dealing with my fellow Chinese Malaysian or Chinese Singapore in my humble opinion. I've seen him join the stream 3 times at least but has been labelled quite unjustly as a secret Christian or troll. He could also be a Buddhist as that's the majority of Chinese in Malaysia or Singapore are anyways. But I think it's just the cultural differences and communication that are causing all these misunderstandings.

Indonesian here. I think we Muslim here are often wrapped in Fiqh and often have our own circle of the ummah, ustadz and perhaps we understand heaps on jurisprudence but lack of understanding on argument against Islam as the labels such as "tolerance" and or "democracy" are often being sounded here. Yet, we got caught by surprise by these unheard Islamophobe arguments but the truth is the truth and at the end look how that Driller was drilled and dusted intellectually.

Sorry brother I don't understand some of your points. But I do agree that the arguments against Islam that he came with was properly dealt with by our brothers here in the panel. Having said that, there were some moments that he was mischaracterised by mistake. Just to avoid that in future I suggest he get clarification from a local daee. Because brother Firdaus wong is a revert Chinese Muslim in Malaysia and has helped a lot of Chinese in Malaysia revert to Islam by the grace of Allah. Alhamdulillah.

@@jammgiler In short, because muslims are big in Malaysia and Indonesia perhaps we often overlooked on arguments against Islam but focusing and studying more on the prayers and so on. I have seen brother Firdaus Wong and may Allah bless him with all his efforts for the deen. True that it is better to consult with local ulama and or daee as it is easier to have the same perspective and understanding the trend, culture and such

Daniel never said that “Muslim are allowed to rape their slaves” driller is a vicious lair! Daniel explained it very well and with nuances regarding the concept of consent. This guy driller accepted his explanation and conceded his arguments regarding this subject. I really don’t understand why he is here again bringing this up but it is clear that he is very disingenuous and frustrating.🙄

One thing that daniel does do is he doesnt always explain the definitions. He is very unapologetic and sometimes some nuances fly under this because he talks to someone who is ignorant. I didnt understand it completely either but was clarified here.

Ihsaan: Question materialism if you're brave enough. I've seen him face the same challenges time and time again without good answers, yet he comes with the same fallacies. He'll mix paradigms and then complain that things don't add up. He's inconsistent too, accepting induction with evolution yet rejecting it when it comes to the God claim. It's clear by his answers and behaviour that he has already decided he can't ever be more convinced of the theist position for other unknown reasons, so rather than "I don't know, therefor no god" as he claims, its "I don't want there to be a God, therefore I don't know". My diagnosis: he has some deep-seated daddy issues that he carried with him to adulthood that caused him to apostate. When combined with the propaganda that is included in the study of his field, it reinforced this. A sincere, self reflective, individual would attempt to listen (not just hear) objections to their position, especially those without a good answer.

Just a bit of advice, I think it would be a great idea to invite Brother Eddie Redzovic from The Deen Show. He’d make an excellent panelist for the Arena, Inshallah. Another brother who in my mind is more than qualified to be on the panel sometime soon is Brother Faz. Please contemplate upon my suggestions, Inshallah. May the peace and Blessings of Allah SWT be upon all of the Ummah, but especially for you guys who are doing continuous Dawah. It sound easy but I’m SURE it’s not. So, may Allah SWT protect all of you. Ameen!

Hamza great stream. My small two cents: you gotta share the mic. John is an amazing guest, and you kept cutting him off as he was was making points, and hijack his points. However his delivery is different, and it’ll allow the guests to hear these points from another perspective. May Allah reward you for your efforts

The hadith about beating a slave actually answered itself. If you beat a slave who hasn't committed an offence set them free. Now what the question should be is, what are the offences where a punishment is given? Rape, murder, theft or more? What makes this hadith go against driller is that muslims also vet a beating / whipping if they commit an offence.

I refuse to believe Ihsaan is a doctor. He could not even understand the basic principles of research methodology John was explaining. Ihsaan, one of the first things any researcher must establish before conducting research is their ontological and epistemological paradigms. This is qualitative/ quantitative research methodology 101. And, John's point about rationality being the basis of all scientific research, and rationality cannot be explained through a material world view is a valid argument. Why do you think postmodernism emerged? The idea is that there is no God, and we are unable to trust our rational faculties in a purely material world, therefore we can't make objective claims about nature, ethics, morality, etc. Nietzsche also touched upon the same idea in "God is dead. It's a legit argument in academia. Science makes unprovable assumptions about the physical world and ourselves that are needed for science to have any evidence and to reach any conclusions. For example, the existence of a theory-independent external world, the orderly nature of the external world, the existence of truth, the laws of logic, the reliability of our cognitive and sensory faculties to serve as truth-gatherers, the uniformity of nature and induction, mathematical axioms, etc. These are all presupposed. Explain the emergence of a rational mind in a material world that is solely made up of things that do not possess any form or potential of rationality? Lastly, Theism is the acceptance that God exists. The prefix "A" means "no" or "not". "A"theism is the acceptance that God does not exist or there is no God. You shaking your head is not a refutation.

Hamza I hope you get to see this...I really appreciate the work you guys are doing...I look forward to these streams weekly. But again I think you need to more patient with these guys, listen more....cos a times inorder to even get em to listen, you need to listen too, they need to feel they are been listened too . Although a number of trolls come on here, but some others I feel are just victims of their environment and things they've been exposed to(that driller guy might as well fall under this category, cos I feel he really did believe the things he was,saying no matter how unintelligent it might seem to us), or maybe he was just trolling...truth be told we can never really know, Allah knows best...and remember the Hadith from the prophet(saw) about suspicions. So please let's endeavour to not label these people so we don't sin why we mean well or push these people into a defensive mode. Also hamza, I appreciate your straightforwardness, but also you need to understand that people hold their beliefs with great value, so even when we understand their beliefs do not make sense, calling people's beliefs or opinions "nonsense" or "sick" or any negative word that might seem insulting especially when they only stated their beliefs/opinions and not really coming as a troll or something....it feels really offensive whether it's true or not... Lol! This point annoyed me because he misunderstood the point being made. The brother was pointing out miraculous nature of the Qur’an itself (i guess it’s structure, information, linguistics, internal and external consistency, free from contradictions etc.), and ihsaan thought he meant the narratives about miraculous things within the Qur’an. There’s a huge difference. We muslims believe the Qur’an itself is the miracle (from many aspects), not because it narrates supernatural things!! It is the supernatural thing which is there for you to test, instead of a story of a past miracle which you can’t witness. Harry Potter, like any other fiction novel, isn’t outside the author’s ability to produce. Just astounds me that someone can be so intent on having a snappy retort, that they don’t stop to ponder on the nuance of the point being made to them.

i am a Malaysian Muslim and my business partner is a Chinese....and she is very happy being my business partner....bfore that she partnered her sis in law....but the sis in law started showing animosity towards her that the business had to be ended.....animosity and hatred happens in any society....but Islam does not advocate hatred towards the non-believers....

I love this show, ef dawah, perfect storm and the whole crew's activity. Sheikh Uthman is a gem. And Hamza is like Umar... ruthless... the best thing is Hamza doesnt hide his emotions and fakes his reply. He is as he is.. but what i really want and would love if you guys could not go against other muslims.. may be they made some mistakes... attend it personally instead of making videos. This makes the umma looks bad. We all are human beings and none of us are beyond mistakes. Beating Your Wife in Islam The verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “As to those women on whose part you see ill‑conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allaah is Ever Most High, Most Great” [al-Nisa’ 4:34] If a woman rebels against her husband and disobeys his commands, then he should follow this method of admonishing her, forsaking her in bed and hitting her. Hitting is subject to the condition that it should not be harsh or cause injury. Al-Hasan al-Basri said: this means that it should not cause pain. ‘Ata’ said: I said to Ibn ‘Abbaas, what is the kind of hitting that is not harsh? He said, Hitting with a siwaak and the like. [A siwaak is a small stick or twig used for cleaning the teeth - Translator] The purpose behind this is not to hurt or humiliate the woman, rather it is intended to make her realize that she has transgressed against her husband’s rights, and that her husband has the right to set her straight and discipline her.

The methodology of Imam Muslim in his sahih is that he puts the most sahih narration that comes from reliable narrators who are truthful and don’t make mistakes or are not forgetful first, so that would be the one referred to as (A), and then he lists similar hadiths that have a weaker narration chain or narrators that are not completely reliable after, so that would be (B, C, etc.), and he omits narrations that he thinks have been corrupted, so not everything in Sahih Muslim is sahih, just the first narration, the other narrations are there as supportive narrations but are not sahih on their own, so the wording that we should follow is the one in the first narration.

Sunan Abi Dawud 5164 Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: "A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked: Messenger of Allah! how often shall I forgive a servant? He gave no reply, so the man repeated what he had said, but he still kept silence. When he asked a third time, he replied: Forgive him seventy times daily." Additionally, scholars only permit a 'light beating' in the way you would discipline your children if they did something wrong...and only in cases where a slave has committed a grave action, not just for any old reason. You have to remember the context and nature of society and the concept of justice back in the day...a man was responsible for keeping his family (inc. Wife, children, slaves) in check and matters that could be solved within the home were not taken to court to be resolved

@@driller8310 the punishment is more psychological than physical in a light beating...i.e. the pain/fear/awe caused by the fact that somebody laid a finger on you...if you had any sense you would then refrain from the action that caused it

@@driller8310 I'd say this hadith proves that the Prophet SAW did not agree with the slave being beaten, and nicely explained to the master using an incentive... The Prophet SAW used wisdom in persuading people to adhere to the commands of Islam, he did not go all guns blazing (e.g. undermining the master's authority in front of his slave) where another approach would work and produce better results Having said that, yes, they did have permission to discipline their slaves - BUT countless verses and hadiths show that slaves are to be treated with the utmost kindness and care. And scholars have explained that the permission is for when a slave does something severely wrong and hasn't listened after being told numerous times, etc. And even then it cannot be a level where it would be severe.

@@driller8310 Lastly, keep in mind that slavery was a total norm and has been for the majority of human history. At that time, slaves in other societies were treated like dirt and worse than animals...contrast that with the command that: Sahih Muslim 1662 Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: 'It is essential to feed the slave, clothe him (properly) and not burden him with work which is beyond his power.' The companions followed this to such an extent that sometimes an onlooker could not tell the difference between a slave and his master, they were given the best food & clothes, and treated like equals... I'm not saying that all Muslims in history adhered to the Prophetic example, but the Prophetic example is crystal clear.

The logical problem of One in Many: It's not a problem because all of Allah's attributes refer to him and they can be chained together like a net, e.g. The Most Merciful is The Most Just and The All-powerful and The All-knowing and The All-Wise and The Creator. Even though being just and being merciful aren't mutually inclusive... they both refer to the same entity, like an index, the attributes would be like index keys and they are all indexes to the same "destination" Unlike "fruit" which refers to both apples and oranges because you can't say an orange is an apple. With Allah... you can say : The Most Merciful is The Most Just simultaneously, referencing his nature. Although we know that mercy and justice can't simultaneously be applied to the same object, but Allah can definitely be Just to one person... and simultaneously punish another. Mutually exclusive attributes that can be used simultaneously unto different objects/beings/entities/people
