Calling it now. Disney should make a prequel about the life of a young Madame Bonfamille and how her career as an opera singer kept her apart from Georges Hautecourt. Also Duchess' great grandmother (or something) should be her very first cat.

When I was a kid my gma gave me a piano keyboard that lit up the buttons so you know which ones to press to learn. And on mine I always played this song because I loved this movie sooooo much. Still have it memorized to this day 💕💕

Part of me wonders why they aren't a couple, but also, I do like that they've got a genuinely platonic friendship. Such a thing is rare in Disney films, where a man and woman don't end up together and just stay friends throughout the story (and I'm not counting examples where the friends are separate species, like Ariel and Flounder or Tarzan and Terk).

Madame and Georges are nice people in Disney animation. It’s super funny and cute when they both dance together which begins as the intro to the animation @ 1:10. They’re separately voiced by the late Hermione Baddeley (Madame) and the late Charles Lane (Georges) in case you didn’t know that back then. 👍🏻 if you agree.

It is the Habanera from the opera Carmen by the French composer Georges Bizet. It is an aria, or simply a number from the opera, not a song. It was written a few decades before the Aristocats takes place.

Which disappoints me when people say he’s “boring” or “uninteresting”. Honestly, he’s sorta vindicated in his feelings. He worked his butt off for this elderly lady and her pets, and he just has to go on working for them anyway? Granted, his math concerning how long the cats’ll live is a tad off, but that just furthers the humor about him. He’s honestly the perfect villain for this. Evil, sure, but understandable and to a degree relatable.
