On the contrary, in my opinion. Don’t fault the public for having bad neighbors and having to negotiate their security under pressure, that causes some frustrated silence. But all other indications like pulling off a Velvet Revolution, a voluntary pivot to the west and adopting democracy, as well as a fast growing economy is an indication of quite the opposite. Not to mention a rich history of political coalition, the phenomenon of an independent Artsakh, and a continual survival of nation despite all odds, are indicative of an engaged nation of people. Look at all the other ethnicities that got absorbed into the region’s powers.

3:26 this makes me laugh - In countries all across the world, the national assembly/congress/parliament being hugely unpopular is a recurring theme. Do this same poll in France, the US, Brazil, Australia, Kazakhstan, Korea, or anywhere else for that matter, and they'll almost always end up at the bottom. I wonder why... 😆

War is meant to protect family, friends, from a threat. Patriotism is political. Armenians fight for civility, culture, and heritage. Look at the turkification in Turkey after the genocide to understand what makes Armenians "tick".

War is horrible. It is patriotic to defend your country though. If an aggressor attacks you have to defend yourself. Alyiev is an aggressor. Armenia should be ready. Being and looking strong should deter the bully, you would think.

@TenTenJ a few examples: A tax for those who refuse to self identify as Turk. Armenians had to pay over 200% tax. Villages renamed to remove Armenian/Kurdish words. Ethnic minorities removed from Eastern regions of Turkiye, even before the cold war. Speaking a language from Turkiye but not Turkish language (Armenian, Kurdish, etc) serious crime. "Being a Turk" literally became a law. That is turkification.

I usually agree with your comments, however, when you comment about something sad and/or catastrophic in sarcastic way, I find offensive as an Armenian even if it's true. I am saying this to you because as I have understood you from a previous comment, you are pro-Christian, pro-Arnenisn. It wouldn't bother if it from a turk or an azery. I don't expect them to be sympathetic. Maybe l have misunderstood you.

Especially coming to the conclusion that Armenians will become apathetic and disengaged. Not sure, that’s kind of out of character, but I know people are scared about national security and some find all other issues quite secondary.
