The ARMY BASE Tower In BTD6 / Bloons TD 6! This is a custom tower mod equipped with 15 unique upgrades and tons of crazy weapons at your disposal! Ranging from walking mortar monkeys, jeeps, dirt bikes, and more.

The reason we don't place monkeys on the track is because of the danger that being run over by a bloon poses. This is why the only things placed on the track are inanimate objects that can cause harm to the bloons. These soldier monkeys in the lore would have to be expertly trained to deal with bloons of all types in head to head combat. Truly the bravest and best of monkeykind. It's a good thing one of the monkeys' oldest technological advancements allows projectiles to only hurt balloons, otherwise the soldiers would have a tough time getting around acid pools and spike factories.

at 5:22, it looks like they're shooting sub darts so it probably can't see camo and thus won't seek towards the bloons

The tower is probably underpowered because there were multiple tracks for it to go through, it’d probably be a lot stronger if it were on a single lane map. That being said, it could really help out on harder tracks like workshop, geared, or flooded valley

As someone who plays probably a little too many tower defense games on Roblox, I have a gut feeling that this mod is based off a certain tower archetype present in many of those games - The Spawner tower. It's basically a tower that spawns in a moving unit on the track to attack enemies. Interestingly, some of the upgrades of this mod tower actually make the tower worse, namely the movement speed upgrades. A common misconception is that faster walkspeed on the spawns means its better, but due to the nature of spawner towers, the speed of the spawns dont matter much since they will always hit the enemies no matter what. Slower walkspeed is actually beneficial to these types of towers as it allows their units to stay on screen for longer and run into more enemies, dealing more damage.

In my imo east fix for the tower (which is 10/10 concept btw) is just make the first 3 tiers deploy way way way way faster but keep the t4’s as they are. It’s basically useless t1-3.

kinda reminds me of this old tower defense game i used to play on roblox. the game had a military base tower that would send out jeeps that would go up the track from the end to the start of it and ram into zombies. upgrades would make it be able to ram into more zombies and even fire at them before colliding into them.

This is actually a common TD Concept for a "Summoner" based Tower that fights on the track/ sends something through the track... Closest thing we have to this currently is Sauda Level 10 that isn't straight a tower on the track... Kingdom Rush is a great example of this mechanic actually, it's "Barracks" deploys some units onto the track to fend off enemy units and will move around in a small range on their own, adding some varience to their defense, other games that actually do the summoned "track walkers" are also something seen quite a bit and i'm suprised BTD 6 hasn't gone and made a new tower based on this fairly common mechanic, as it'd fit in quite well

I wouldn’t say the Army Base is underpowered, you just have to treat it like any other tower. Of course spamming the same tower will bot perform as well as having variety, you know that better than anyone!

@@justenoughrandomness8989 go into a regular run on this map and throw down three 000 helis and use them to beat round 100. No farms, no other towers (besides a 000 dart to start. Without micro, farms, or any sort of actual play, you cannot win. Similarly, ISAB did none of the above and lost a few times (understandably)

@@SoulPlaye0518 the example means nothing cause it's exagerrated too much to mean anything, anyway dart monkeys would've done a lot better on their own, and the other towers are mainly gonna struggle cause they fulfil specific niches, the army base is not that specific, so it should be better on its own, a tower that gets overwhelmed this early on it's own is either very specific like mortar (actually is mortar this bad in thsi case), can't get good upgrades (supermonkey) or just plain bad like this tower

@@justenoughrandomness8989 It “got overwhelmed that early” because the Army base isn’t an early game tower. You cannot win a game by throwing down 3 helis, supers, or tacks in the beginning and that’s it (without micro or other towers to get you through the early game). It’s not underpowered. You just cannot treat it like another modded tower by just saying “it needs to be good on its own!!!” Because no tower is good on its own.

I'm assuming this was inspired by the Tower Defense Simulator (a roblox game) army base and crook boss towers wich send out troops on the lane just like this. The army base from tds starts off by spawning 20hp cars Lvl 1 spawns cars faster Lvl 2 cars have 60hp Lvl 3 cars get a gun man on top shooting at the enemies Lvl 4 car turns into 600hp tank now also shooting rockets Lvl 5 turns tank into futuristic tank with 1200hp,now shooting lightning instead of rockets. I'm not sure aboth the exact upgrades the crook boas has so I won't explain it rn.

Funnily enough ive seen this concept in roblox tower defence games. Problem there is there are no split paths and its quite linnear, but seeing the concept so flushed out in btd 6 is certainly cool.

imagine a paragon of this! "the bloon patrol" "it's my way, especially on the highway!" it'd be a MASSIVE truck with the biker aesthetic of the top path and huge mounted guns, it'd move about as fast as the truck but it being slow wouldn't matter because that just gives the guns up top more time to fire missiles at bloons whilst anything in front of it lesser than a ZOMG just gets automatically destroyed and it'd boost all military vehicles (sub, boat, plane, heli) with a +2 pierce

Pretty cool, though "sturdier soldiers" could be replaced with "combat armor" to make a bit more sense. Also not sure about the limits of BTD6's mod animation, but it would be really cool to see monkeys actually marching instead of casually strolling.
