Thanks for sharing a rarely shown side of fishing. Tons of respect for these guys and all other commercial fisherman, spent a few summers working on shrimp boats and there’s nothing easy about any of it, especially nowadays with all the regulations.

This brings back great memories for me Aaron. Back in the mid 90's I spent a lot of time in the Dry Tortugas fishing yellowtail. We humans that have seen it should consider ourselves some of the luckiest peeps on the planet. The salmon run up here reminds me of it just due to the sheer number of fish. It's mind boggling. This was great to see and you caught the essence of their fishing methods and challenges quite well. Just compound it by 100! It made me think of farmers who also work extremely hard, in sometimes challenging and dangerous conditions (battling the elements), with variable and uncertain income. Thanks for showing your followers and future followers a small piece of the enigma that commercial fishing industry is. I fished commercially for over ten years out of Stock island lobster. So many hours go into the final results. Some people think that you just get out on the water and ta dah! You catch anything you want to and just as many as you want then go back and sell it for the prices you want. It's one of the hardest jobs in the world. Yes sir I would love to get back out there doing it again just because the ocean is my happy place and I love love love the Job.

Aaron another great video I love the drone view of the sharks trying for a free meal off his line. It's good to see the numbers of yellowtail I've been fishing my whole life. Now that I'm a family man with 17 grandkids I hope a few of them would like to go fishing and make memories like I did with my grandparents.

Seeing this makes me miss my commercial days. We had a 31' Morgan and worked the Middle Grounds in the Gulf. The target was gag grouper and mangrove snapper. A normal trip was 4 or 5 days. It was hard work, but very fun and satisfying. Enjoy!

Great episode. When I was young the commercials mostly fished for Kingfish out of Palm Beach Inlet, everyone gave them plenty of room. You can spot them by the inboard motor and long canopy. It's hard work. They jigged for them with a huge spool of line mounted near the canopy.

Great video Aaron. I don’t think people really understand the difficulty and precision needed to be on a commercial vessel like that and not annoy, bother, or show something you’re not supposed to. You can see how happy they were with having you on and that goes to show how Aaron is.

Its a good life, clean and honest. You will not get wealthy from it, but you get to be out there in that beauty all the time. They are a dying breed. Love to see them keep the tradition going. Miss it everyday. Used to fish out of those docks and haunt those waters a few moons ago. Thank you for bringing light to it and keep it up! Do a crawfish video on opening day craziness!
