I'm privileged enough to live in Vaud, close enough to Le Brassus and Le Chaux de Fonds that I've cycled through there many times.... And having gone past these legendary buildings, it strikes me to comment on the total lack of ostentation. There's no flashy signs, no massive gates and displays shouting and begging for attention. Even though it's obvious that there's real money there, it's a quiet and reserved type of wealth that more cloying brands always try to display outwardly. I've probably seen that AP workshop twenty times without it really getting into my head that inside are probably millions and millions of swiss francs of the world's greatest watches. This is true brilliance in all its Swiss reservedness and privacy.

Wow...loved the Royal Oak the watchmaker was wearing...

Can’t wait for the comments on saying it’s only royal oak nowadays, why is there so much negativity under these Hodinkee videos? This is beautiful and you wouldn’t get to see it otherwise

MrWIWARD tell me about it. If I were told I could only own one watch it would be the 15202st. No doubt about it. Love it to death. Love AP

What's up with the South Korea and Taiwan flags at 4:25?
@summerrr15 жыл бұрын
The watches are actually Taiwanese manufactured. The Workshops in Switzerland are just a facade.

It’s crazy that considering the price they don’t keep great time.

Just saw this video. These watches are adult toys. Telling the time is not really the reason why these watches exist. We now use cellphones, smartwatches to tell time.

This what separates Audemars Piguet, from the rest of the Watch World! Passion and perfection, truly amazing Haute Horology at the highest possible level! The ones who own a Audemars Piguet, are truly fortunate and blessed!
@newtonlee7849 Жыл бұрын
I just saw this video, and disagree with you. Micro High horology brands like Andreas Strehler, Armin Strom, Czapek, DeBethune, Gronefeld, Grebel Forsey, Gronefeld, FP Journe, Laurent Ferrier ( to name a few ) have equaled, or arguably exceeded AP in exclusivity, craftsmanship, and complexity. History, & marketing is the only thing now that leaves a gap ( shrinking) between the Holy Trinity, and the micro brands. High horology brands have grown thanks to advances in computer software, materials available, & precision machining tools. ( All the high end brands have similarly skilled craftsman to assemble & fine finish the watches )

Just to think a twenty dollar Casio quartz watch from Wal-Mart will run for a minimum of ten years on it's battery and only loss + or- five to ten seconds per month. When these Audemars must been wore to keep main spring wound and losses sixty to two hundred forty seconds per month and some time much more and cost a minimum of twenty two thousands dollars. Which watch could anyone say is the real timepiece!
