Being called masculine is an insult. I know for sure that I will never be masculine but others have tried to tear me down by telling me I am.

Yes. I understand that and agree. What I was saying was that when someone calls me masculine, it usually means I'm passionate and they can't handle it, nor do they have a real response. They throw this insult to shut me up and it doesn't work. 💛💛💛

My word for the rest of this year is “REST” I’ve been so exhausted, unhappy and emotionally drained. I’ve realised it’s due to extreme emotional, physical and mental fatigue. This was starting to impact my health. Cheers to a wholesome life going forward 🌸❤️ I deserve rest😌😌

As a Cancerian woman, I hear this sooooo much and I just look at people like y’all are weird. You’re supposed to feel your emotions as a human being. I love navigating my emotions, good or bad, as it has allowed me to live the life of peace I believe God desires for us all to live. As a collective, we need to normalize vulnerability. We are quick to Shame people for simply feeling. On one hand we’ll say you can talk to me anytime or go see a therapist, mental health is real…. Then when people express they’re shamed. Let’s learn to create safe spaces for others. ❤❤

Women listen to the words she says as I at 35 got pregnant, raised a daughter at that time was 15 and the man was an old breakup lover, we got back together he was horrible to me and I was working full time, getting an MBA, single parenting my daughter and pregnant later and stayed on school- work-housework and I delivered a healthy baby 2/10/12 and was emotional, physically worn out, no help or support from family and I developed HEART FAILURE..I live with this terrible illness now raising my son who lost his daddy of a heart attack in March 2021. Ladies I kept my anger, pain, suffering inside and I totally believe no support, no safe space and people waiting to see my next moves when the path was rugged no help but I felt sad, disappointed because I would take care of these very people even now knowing how they’ve treated me and my children 👧 😮

Thank you so much for this video. As someone that was shamed for years for having emotions and being sensitive it is so affirming to have a black woman tell me it’s OK. It feels like we are police for so long that we begin policing ourselves even when we are in a safe environment. Thanks to women like you I am learning to allow myself to be fully human and to stop deferring to voices from the past telling me that I am not enough or too much. Thank you

One thing that i have been ruminating on are people telling Black Women that we overshare. Or being told to "move in silence", etc. I understand that most of this advice is being said to protect Black Women from being sucked into dangerous situations/people and to prevent sabotage. However, sometimes is can get to the level of berating Black Women. Some people are angry that we have feelings or angry that sometimes our sharing exposes those who are supposed to be exposed. I remember a few months ago, series of shorts where Black Women were crying. Half empathized with them and the other half criticized them. It is Black Women's right to be fully human. Some of us are very sensitive and that is our right. When I think back on my own past the times I have literally cried publicly or had a breakdown, I have begun letting go of the shame. Even if someone pushed that Woman to the edge with manipulative tactics, still all of the blame is placed on her. Now I am getting to a point where I am allowing myself to be a human being. I have been practicing not shaming myself. At day's end, those who are the most vocal against the Black Woman are those who are either draining her the most or benefitting from her the most. It is the Black Woman's right to be a multifaceted human being.

I'm the same. I'm emotional and I have embrace it. I can be listening to a song, watching a video and start crying. What I have noticed is because I embrace all my emotions, I'm more balanced at managing the negative ones such as anger that can get me in trouble more than the so called ones who don't show their emotions.

I've been called masculine, strong and even aggressive (misconstrued for my passion) Because I had no choice but to be "strong" in the workplace and in a hostile living environment and even as a Black women in America we are labeled that forever and not for just a moment in time. But how strong are we when we are screaming in agony from stress and pain in the body and possibly suicidal tendencies from so emotional pain and no one listens or cares?
