This is the silent cancer in the black church that must be exposed and uprooted. You are so courageous to tell your testimony! You are the seed that will set free a mighty harvest of all the rest this horrific manipulation happened to them. My molester was a family member and those three years of being taken advantage of, held me in psychological, emotional and spiritual bondage for 30 years of my life! It's the shame that keeps us from telling a story. I didn't get free from it until I started talking about it to get it out of my spirit. To this day, I won't have anything to do with that person I refuse to allow him to be around my daughter and my grandchildren because a pedophile is always a pedophile! And they are in every family! Porter is alive, and because of you & other brave souls like you, he is having to see the faces, and hear the voices of his accusers and hear the heralding tales of his unfathomable and egregious acts of terror. After a three-hour deliberation, a jury of his peers found him guilty of the very acts you accuse him of here. It is likely that he will never again see the light of day in freedom. And I, a former member of the Westcoast ministry under then Bishop Henry L. Porter, applaud you for being a catalyst for what we see happening today. And while many condemn the congregation for sitting idly by and allowing this pedophile robbed in priestly garments to run rampant throughout the congregation molesting our innocent children, I offer only one explanation and that is, I simply did not know it was happening. I met you, Chadwick, when you were about 9 or 10 years old, and I watched you "flourish" in the ministry...singing, musicianing, traveling around the world; I remember thinking how blessed you were. Other than this, I just did not know. But justice is prevailing today such that it can after decades of abuse, misuse, terror, tragedy and woe. At least we have this....you have this. I remember that, when I saw him at the Church Service, He had a African inspired attire, and he had NO PANTS ON. (It waved a Red Flag)Also, he had a altar call, and I felt uneasy for him to PRAY FOR ME! All I can say is THANK YOU GOD FOR DISCERNMENT! Sidenote: I had mentioned the story to a Male Friend, and My Friend was SHOCKED, and my Friend, had told me that, The same dude came to Martin County Florida Correctional for a Prison Ministry, and now he is among the Jail Population, and, they don't like CHILD MOLESTERS, SO HE WILL GET WHAT HE DESERVES!!!!

I am so sorry this happened son. I know where ur coming from my mom manipulated me to be under her control and damn near got me full blown MOLESTED by my STEP dad. She had him put locks on my doors to SUPPOSEDLY keep me safe. And I had to put towels under all my doors. I was a fighter where I was strong about people trying to control me, as a kid. Thankful for the lion in me and the prayers of my actual father. It took me turning 40 to realize I had been abused and my mother was grooming me but it made my defense weak to people outside my family and to me that was dangerous and I wasnt getting trapped with some NARCISSISTIC guy CUZ that's what I kept attracting in different forms. So I dont trust men on the emotional intimate side. Been sexually harassed had to file a report twice. That's why I do what I can to advocate for children. Stay strong baby.

Chadwick Watkins Hey Brother, I grew up in Little West Coast Gainesville, and you were always like a big Brother, we idolized, especially in that world, you know, High Holy and The Love Campaign. In, 1999, this happened to a Big Brother Friend of mine in the church, and when we told us the story, all of us questioned everything. Chad, Man, it changed my whole life. Being a child, asking and coming to the conclusion that we were going to church to be in a safe place, but we weren't safe at all. And our parents, were willing to be complicit. So, as children, 13, 14, 15, and my Big Bro Friend like 17, we all made the adult decision that we weren't going back to West Coast. That was in 1998-1999. I remember watching you sing a beautiful song with the Bishop, one Love Campaign Saturday Night, and thinking, "Chadwick must know, He must know!" I never had a chance to talk with you and it's funny how life comes full circle. We all lift the church as children and went looking for "The Truth," looking for the "Real God," found ourselves looking in Calvinism, and the Southern Baptist Movement, a Christian sect, Holy grounded in the word, but deeply opposite of My world. And it took Me time to find my way out of their dogma/doctrine. It left Me, finding myself going back to what we learned at West Coast, as a child, because it was all We knew, scripture and Holy Songs, able to heal your spirit. But I always stopped short because from afar, I knew... I am proud to see your growth in the aftermath. Out of the ashes, we arise as diamonds, to tell the truth about the issues and secrets of the day. Hey Brother, you take care of yourself. Glad, to see, you have finally, Awaken. Peace and War

God has given us so many chances to get it right and all we do is fail him. What was done to you is beyond despicable beyond disbelief beyond human interaction. We as young girls all had a teenage crush on Chad an awesome soul. When we went to Sarasota he was one of my favorite people there. No one ever deserves to be molested, raped or manipulated.
