There are some weird and wonderful aircraft at Oshkosh, and this year the Ascender drew the crowds. This four seat super STOL aircraft was created by Alec Wild, the man behind the equally individual aircraft, the DoubleEnder (maybe don't google that in front of the kids or boss without putting the word aircraft in too!). 600k with an IO390 for only 95-105 mph. I don’t think STOL is that important to me… but it sure looks cool!!

Lots of talented aircraft designers that really do not have the EGO for interviews. Could have been inspired by the Push Me Pull Me, buy way cleaner.

Nice!! I’ve been following The DoubleEnder since it made its way to Microsoft Flight Simulator and I’m glad to see that they are bringing The Ascender to market. Thanks for sharing!

Brilliant design. I think if you get a good salesman and someone that knows aircraft manufacturing really well this has the potential to be very successful.

I did notice that the landing gear isn't retractable. You could probably get a lot more speed if it were retractable. I'm just saying
