The video should have mentioned that Siad Barre was one of the main architects of the coup; that he became the president of Somalia after the coup; and that he had some of his co-conspirators in the coup, among them the Salaad Gabeyre Kediye mentioned in the video, General Caynaanshe and Col. Dheel, killed to eliminate any threats to his consolidation of power.

Our destruction was a cold war by product. It also shows you how weak, dominated people we are. We're like toys to the world powers. And the sad thing is thess society are not superior to us, but we failed to use our brain. And the saddest part is that up to date my people are not aware of that all this nonsense happened because of the power struggle between the west and east. And not because we hated each other, not because of qabiil. I can't really forget what my uncle told me about Somalia. There's really evil people who create chaos, clan fightings, they create disputes and then take war triggering actions. They even create bombings. Folks believe me there are architects who design all this shit for their own greediness. Every bombing, clan war, humanitarian crisis, natural disaster, assassination is generating them millions. If you don't believe me go work with foreign NGOs, finance ministry, MPs and you will see the crazy stuff going on behind the scenes.

The coup wasn’t led by Gen Salad Gabayre although he was a major part of it. Mohamed Siyad was the keystone leader.
