Great review and well presented. I got my own 2600+ just over a week ago and I'm really loving it. Using it gives me such wonderful nostalgic retro-gaming feels. :)

Could not agree more with this review. The 2600+ is boss. Yes there are some issues here and there that are being worked on right now and Atari (via Plaion) is targeting a before Christmas firmware release to fix many issues and increase compatibility. We are entering another "golden era" of Atari.

I have watched many reviews for the 2600+ and this one has been the best so far. Thank you for taking the time to produce it. The 2600+ is fantastic. I have over 200 carts and have had a lot of fun collecting more like it was 1982 again. :-)

I received my ATARI 2600+ about two weeks ago it's been great! I haven't had any problems with mine thus far. It's re-sparked my passion for ATARI cart collecting. I love mine and I can't wait for future hardware and software releases from ATARI. They really knocked it out of the ballpark with the 2600+. As always great video man, take care!🖖

I grew up in the Atari 2600 era but never got around to having one. So recently I decided better late than never. I got down to either the 2600+ or Flashback 12 Gold. I was originally getting the 2600+ but then I had no games so it was going to be long and expensive task to get games for it. So I ended up getting the flashback 12.

Nice review. I'm loving mine! I need to get a 7800 controller though. Kinda waiting til Atari puts out a new one. I would have liked if they just included an extra button on the new joysticks, like they did with the Atari vcs ones, which i am a huge fan of. For me, i'd rather not swap out for an alternate joystick or paddle. I didn't get the paddle bundle for that reason.

5:38 Sega did try to make a Sega Genesis retro console that used the original cartridges and it was the Sega genesis flashback but it flopped because of poor emulation thanks to AtGames. So I'd say that Sega should do a Sega Genesis plus.

The question of playing indie homebrew game on this device is a big question for me, and possibly a deal-breaker if it’s a serious issue. I think the best Atari 2600 videogames ever made are the ones that have appeared in recent years, and the fact that Atari bought AtariAge shows they have an interest in promoting that indie scene. I would hope the new carts work on 2600+, otherwise I would simply find a used 7800 out in the wild and modify it for modern TVs.
