Its a Southern African thing. Called 'Toyi Toiyi' Many racist regimes existed in that part of the continent and so blacks would dance like this at protests. Soon it was incorporated into sports, pay strikes and much more.

Its started way back thousand years ago am xhosa so we called it "igwijo" . We sing on funeral ,wedding or any celebration . Even when a nation of xhosa was about to go to war thes some song tht lift the spitits of the african wario special the young inexperience ones.

@@BeskuitenBroffie am stil learning the history too. I found out some of thier history tht was never published & its not in the history book . Those two nation xhosa & khoi are underated in south african history
