Very good video Paul, just great. The ATS120 is a very good receiver that has now become a top model thanks to these modifications. After I made a video of this modification on my channel, I immediately thought of you, as you are also a big fan of the ATS120. I also took the 13WPM test in 1995 here in the states. But I took both the general and advanced class test on the same day. And 13WPM was good for both. I still have my advanced class license, which is grand-fathered but now no longer exists, you now go straight to extra class from general.. And of course no code needed after the early 2000s in the USA. Interestingly, I probably did not really pass the code test, I always thought the examiner just felt sorry for me and passed me anyway. After the first two questions, I just guessed the rest of the questions, so little probability I just got lucky. I was nervous and got flustered.

Excellent and informative video. Is it likely that the upgrades you made will be put in this receiver prior to purchase. If I were to purchase an ATS 120 is it essential that I have a computer to upgrade the firmware?

Paul did you have the WIFI features, meaning the clock and HF propagation info and color indicators green red and yellow before you put the decoder upgrade in? I have a strong WIFI signal but no clock or HF features. I don't know why, I don't have the decoder upgrade installed. Also you have the ATS 25 max decoder you did a video on, did you upgrade the firmware to 4.16 air on that to open all the features?

Yes, with a new firmware I had those features already. Then I installed decoder upgrades. The ATS25 is no need to upgrade, if you don't need BT feature.

I recognize your current ATS120 in this YT is different from your previous ATS120. This one has no scratch on the left side of the display as of the previous one. LOL....73

Hi sir I purchased ATS 120 from AliExpress. but I don't have 2 Circuit which are you showing in the video. If I update my ATS 120 it's working perfectly or not.

I wonder if anyone else has received a ATS 120 and has upgraded the firmware to 4.16 air and the HF Info and clock function through the WiFi connection do not work and the radio shuts down at 30% on the battery indicator?

Hi. I recently purchased ATS120 and find I can just place it next to microphone on my iPhone X to decode FT8 and FT4. Even though the sigs are low and there is band noise. I have 2 apps - ft8d and another app downloaded from the iOS store. My age and eyesight prevents me from doing intricate hardware mods Hi! 73 G4BTI.

For serious listening I would recommend the ATS-120 Decoder Pocket, which will be soon on the market. 😉👍 It will be an advanced ATS-120 receiver with already intergrated the decoding circuits. I plan to create a video about it.

I have never got my ATS-120 to connect to any computer. I download and install CH341SER driver from Harduino, before connecting radio, but when I connect USB, always says "USB Device Not Recognized. The last USB device you connected to to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". Seems I will never be able to upgrade it if it won't connect. Tried with several computers and several USB cables. Always same result. Seems this ATS-120 will live in the junk drawer. :-(

Firstly you have to uninstal all previously installed serial drivers, restart computer and install this one from theyr website. After this connect your radio.

@@OM0ET I have tried many times, and tried new installs on new computers, same error messages, same results. I've never got beyond 'USB Device not recognized' on any computer or cable combination.
