This video is a review of the Avanti .3 gravity feed airbrush, as sold at harbour freight. These are my thoughts and opinions as a professional artist with hands on experience with dozens of models of airbrushes.

I have two. I upgraded both the needle and nozzle of one of them with the Iwata neo 0.5 needle and nozzle which works perfectly as an upgrade. That being said I love my brushes both the stock 0.3 and 0.5 upgrade. Ive put them both through the ringer with shooting everything from lacquer based paints, to enamels, and acrylic to mica powders and automotive grade clear coats and I have to say both have performed amazingly well with what I've used them for. Both cleaned up quite easily, and assemble just fine and continued to perform as I need it too. Best affordable investment I've definitely ever made.

you make a very good point about the narrow opening in a removable cup, especially for thicker paint. I rarely use thick paint so I never thought about it. great and helpful video to watch!

on the bright side.. it was responsive once I thinned it down.. but it definitely was lacking in the overall quality. Obviously the sticking issue with the barrel was not a one time thing. As you mentioned the cup was pretty poor as well. Good to see how far your channel has come!

Yep, I wasted my money a few months ago on one... had to polish my needle... could have taken it back, however thinking about grinding the cup fitting off and make it my stencil brush when painting fishing lures... For now, it sits by my computer, and I practice trigger control watching you tube videos... And yes, I agree the Timber -Tec air brush is much better with 3 needles and caps as well as cups for 1$ and change more... Enjoyed the Video, keep them coming... Big C 😎

suprisingly the needle was the one part that was really top notch in this one. But there is just too much there that needs attention. With their buying power, and no shortage of brushes that are for bulk sale to rebadge they could have done much better.

My go to for restock is Spraygunner. I think I'm going to pick up the Sparmax SP-35F Airbrush for an extra. I love my Iwata Eclipse though.

ive used spraygunner for a long time. THe sparmax is an overall good airbrush. BUT the creos platinum series is hard to beat especially with prices down on them.

Great review Bill. I'd love to see what the Chinese could build if someone gave them the budget of a Micron. Folks get on them for low quality but like you said, they are built marketed to new airbrushers who don't want to spend anything.

to be fair there's a few cheap ones I think are pretty serviceable. This was definitely not one of them. I didnt start out thinking it would be that negative.. but here we are! :)

How do you like it? I purchased the avanti and in all honesty it's straight trash. I purchase one from angelus so I'm hoping it's better than this

The build quality of mine is much better than that, It by no means high quality, but it sprays okay.

Looks like you a defective one cause mine turned out pretty buttery and none of the parts wiggle like yours does. I have bought a few of those other ones and some of those worked well and some didn't. I still use one always for my whites. If they don't spray right ust take them backband trade thm for another until you get the good ones.
