Yeah, I can't stand Korra. It's obvious what they were trying to do with Korra. "You don't need those old people stuck in the past. You're equally great all on your own. You're a strong independent woman that don't need no past lives". Yeah yeah, we get it. You hate all tradition and want to be "progressive". Too bad that's such a flawed ideology that you couldn't even write it to work in a fictional story. Instead, Korra just comes across as arrogant, and disrespectful. Lose your connection to all the past Avatars, so you decide you know better than all of them and undo the barrier between the worlds?? What?? Also, she shouldn't even have the Avatar state after that. With no past lives, it shouldn't give her a power boost. As far as I'm concerned. Aang's story is the only real one, and Korra's is a poorly thought fan-fiction, laced with political indoctrination.

The avatars are constantly fixing the mistakes of their past lives, aang had to fix the war that Roku couldn't stop, korra revived the air nation that was wiped due to aang disappearance, opening the spirit portals giving a ton of people the air bending abilities so my guess for the next avatar is to find a way to restore the connection to previous avatars that Korra lost

I feel like Raava and Vatu would have been better if they were the spirits of Balance and Chaos rather than light and dark. That way it wouldn't seem paradoxical that The Avatar is an agent of balance in spite of the Avatar Spirit being a spirit of light and not darkness.

Sorry it doesn't make sense because the dark and the light creat balance. The light without the dark is not balance and vice versa... the avatar balance between the humans and spirits and the nations by the help of the light spirit to control darkness and chaos; the darkness can never disappear bc its an element of balance...

Everybody talks about Aang or Kyoshi or Roku nobody gives Korra the credit she deserves of course she was selfish in the beginning but through out the books she became quite the young avatar that deserves the credit she is as powerful as all the avatars she gave Lin's bending back opened a spirit portal she is awesome and I love her

9:05 incorrect. The new Avatar’s identity is known early on (that’s what the relics are for). They’re not told of their identity until their 16th birthday. Korra was an exception as she already was able to bend 3 elements from a young age.

Aang was a true underdog you rooted for. Air master that seldom was touched but it made the avatar state seem really amazing. And something that couldn’t be beaten. Then korra came along and used it to win races, and every other fight. And still lost a lot. They watered it down to just another skill it seems.

Avatar Wan should be the greatest avatar as he is the progenitor of all the avatars. Aang should be the 2nd best avatar as he was able to complete his mission at such a young age and even didn't sacrifice his values. He even is responsible to guide the world to the new age.

I think Wan was definitely impressive for his time, but bending evolved over the years so I would say he is one of the weakest. Kyoshi was said to be the strongest in raw bending power.

The beginnings was one of the best parts in the whole series! It gave answers… why was the avatar only able to control all 4 elements and not others… why could they remember past lives… Raava makes sense that way. How I look at it is that all beings in the avatar world reincarnate. But as explained in real world by Buddhism and Hinduism, they don’t remember their past lives. Raava provides that link. Hence when 4 lion-turtles gave the elements to wan, it carried on for all his births because of raava. Others cannot harness their abilities from a previous birth.. and the lion turtles also refuse to provide the ability to bend after the portals are closed by Wan. Maybe that causes bending to be genetic?

Basically the Lion Turtles turn humans into Elemental mutants which they can undue at will…when they no longer provide the power of the elements no more mutants can be made & those already existing reproduce to create more elemental mutant offspring. So basically all benders were born from Lion Turtles and originally all humans were protected by Lion Turtles 🐢

Watching Aang, Roku and Kyoshi’s spirit being severed was so traumatizing. A huge misstep in my opinion by the writers, hopefully they’ll undo that with future content..

i agree that it hurt and it's painful to watch but i think it needed to be done, maybe in a different way. The cycle needed to start again? Wan was the first and the 10, 000 years start again with Korra. By the end of s2 she's like Wan but instead with both the spiritual world and human world reunited. She undid what Wan did, so these no point, storywise to keep the past avatar. But if it's restored, and i'm sure i can be, it would be awesome to see the past avatar see how the world have change. And Wan being happy and proud that the balance have been restored, or almost.

I think the Best ist aang because he had only few months to learn everything unless the other avatars had years to learn. All avatars are strong and awesome but aang had harder live as a 12 yers old Child lost all his family. I LOVE HIM.

I adore Avatar Kyoshi and Avatar Aang. Korra was just too hard-headed and prideful. Instead of thinking most decisions through, she just made snap decisions and expected everyone to be on her side.

yeah, i didn't care much about others but removing kyoshi is hurting me, and the next avatar will come from earth kingdom (or earth nation?), which is another pain because kyoshi will be replaced.And if that avatar restore the connection, it will be her last cycle. I love kyoshi so much that she is the only earth bender avatar for me. I also like korra though because most of the time, her kyoshi attitude showing.

My favourite was Kyoshi,Roku,Aang & Korra.I believe Korra was a strong Avatar but in her Avatar State she's look weak compare to other Avatar I've ever seen.

People keep blaming Korra for losing the connection to her past life and trust me I really hate that she lost it too, but it's not really her fault, yeah she trusted Unalock but that's only because tenzon and her father kept a lot of secrets from her. I love aang so much and both aang and korra been through a lot as the avatar, but Korra really is my favorite❤....but everyone have their own opinions right.

I like to mention Aang's usage of the avatar state compared to the others. The other avatars used only parts of the avatar state when needed, while Aang could manifest the whole thing, but in a less controlled manner. I wonder if Aang was unique in this aspect?

I think it would be natural for the Avatar state to be less controllable when the Avatar first learns to use it. Firstly, because it’s like when Aang first learned to fire bend. It can be powerful but if you don’t know how to use it it can be very dangerous. Secondly when most avatars first enter the avatar state they probably have not unlocked their Chakras. However, this might not apply to all Avatars since many likely had teachers and caretakers to teach them about the avatar state before they’ve had the chance to use it.

@@mark78129 you get Airbending tattoos for airbending not for being a prodigy with spiritual stuff (eg. Tenzin and even Aang because he hand never gone into the spirit world before he got his tattoos...he does it for the first time during the series). I mean, who can honestly say she showed any airbending feats that would put her on Aang's or Tenzin's level, in other words, a master's level...I have no problem with the show creators wanting her to be a master...sure...but they should have given her the screen time to back it up... we've seen more airbending feats from meelo😂.

My favorite is avatar Vaat. Man, he had to struggle a lot... You could see him at 11:35, the one with the glowing eyes and wearing beads. He was from southern air temple. And also Avatar Agni (Standing besides Bhoop, who is standing besides Vaat), she was fire nation princess. Agni kai was originally named after her.

I don't think those are their names, unless those are the names fans gave them. Iirc the only one of those pre-Kuruk Avatars that were once nameless that is now named is Szeto, who fans have been calling "Avatar Jafar" for 13 years. He's the Fire Nation Avatar who looks like Jafar, and was Yangcheen's predecessor. He was elaborated on in the Kyoshi book duology. He was the only known Avatar to be a politician and brought balance through it in service of the Fire Nation, eventually reaching Grand Advisor. Other than that, none of the pre-Szeto Avatars have names.

BTW I selected names carefully for them- Vaat roughly translates to "Air" in sanskrit, Simillaly, Bhoop~ King of the land Agni ~ Fire (although it is a masculine word and shouldn't have been given to a female, but whatever, Bumi (bhumi) is a feminine word but was given to a man in the series). 😀

If i remember it correctly, kyoshi did 3 avatar level bending feats, 2 in the novels and the one in the show. I'm so passionate when it comes to kyoshi. my fave avatars are kyoshi, korra and toph. No one argue, toph is am avatar for me.

I really think that LoK would’ve been better either without the addition of Raava and Vaatu, or having them be seriously reworked. I think spirits should always have blue and orange morality. If Raava and Vaatu were ancient enemies that only really cared about fighting each other rather than some grand ideology, the show would be much more interesting imo
