Among other things, this scene shows us that Cap is a master tactician - unsurprising given his military training and experience. He’s had little to no time for thought, but in less than a minute he gives everyone an assignment based on their unique abilities. He even realizes quickly that, since Hulk has little discipline or ability to follow orders, the best thing to do is just turn him loose. Fortunately, Hulk’s smile upon hearing the word “smash” shows that he understands enough to do what he does best.

"That's my secret Cap, I'm always angry." Bruce Banner went from trying to cure himself all the time (basically the whole Incredible Hulk movie), to accepting Hulk as the part of himself, the part of who he is. The face of Banner when he says "I'm always angry" is a man's face who lost hope, but learnt to accept the changes, and that he can never have a normal life. And people say Incredible Hulk is totally useless and Banner didn't have character development because of the lack of solo movies. Also Mark Ruffalo did some great acting here.

After AOU when hulk left and went to sakaar he had been fighting for a few years at that point, we have to assume he fought a long range of species. Hulk was primed, and arguably at his BEST when he ran into thanos......and thanos with NO STONES not only beat hulk but dismantled his entire skill set in SECONDS. This hulk in avengers would’ve failed against thanos especially in endgame because the thanos they fought was younger and less forgiving. Yeah I kinda grew up watching each of the MCU super hero movies starting with Iron Man 1, but when I saw this movie, and especially this scene, I thought to myself, "holy SHIT! This is amazing! They can never top this ever again!!" Little did I know that we'd someday have Infinity War and Endgame and this iconic scene would be remembered as a nice little warmup to the really big fights. Now I really think that the golden age of MCU is over. 10 glorious years of Marvel Phase 3. I doubt Phase 4 will be as special, and I hope I am wrong. Phase 3 was jaw dropping for me though, the way that the first 3 Star Wars movies were. They came out with more Star Wars pictures later, but they weren't nearly as magical. Unless Marvel can really pull off something beyond spectacular, nothing will ever top Infinity War and Endgame for me. I hope I am wrong though. Do you hear me, Galactus?!! Don't be a dust cloud!!
