I go into the back on occasion, sometimes bathrooms are located there. Other times I do freelance work for retail companies (interpreter) and I can confirm. The back is where hopes and dreams go to die. Someone can work the front shift and end up like Squidward. But I have never seen anyone work an entire shift in the back that didn't look like they would off themselves if their weed/liquor ran out. It reminded me of your grandad who has been hoarding shit in his garage/shed for over 30 years but somehow decided not to organize it with any rhyme or reason. That is what you are asking them to search through. And that's why I buy online, so I don't have to interact with those haunting faces 😎
@darkdaxterversionz2 жыл бұрын
Can confirm. Worked at Target for over 3 years unloading trucks. Whenever I got a chance, I would try to reorganize, condense, and rotate in the back. But A) 90% of people don't care to pay it forward and will immediately ruin whatever you fix B) People will inevitably hide broken and/or heavy shit in the worst places C) There isn't enough staff to cover everything period D) Managers always prioritize saving a second now, to saving multiple hours later. E) Corporate will over-order seasonal shit months early every time that you can literally do nothing with. All that together, and most warehousing jobs are just fighting long drawn out losing battles. Eventually the people trying to maintain some order leave, and everything descends into complete chaos. Don't even get me started on how they cut their slotted payroll hours by 20% based off of last year's projections on the top, just so they can split a corporate bonus every quarter. And honestly that's just the iceberg of hell. I've seen far worse in my time. I'm talking entire warehouses double-stacked with only a small path to drive through. Digging out what you need, then digging a way out. People messing that up make you flash red, especially since it's not going out on their shift. After all the most important item is still being made behind schedule, and you get to keep the driver waiting 6 hours past when he came back the second time, and all the big bosses already went home. So good luck.

@@MynicknameisViolet Pretty much. I got fired from target because I couldn't meet my quotas on getting people to sign up for their damn credit cards. Of course just like three months later their servers were hacked and a bunch of personal information from the credit cards got leaked out. Really there should be two big red flags for any retail jobs. One is quotas for their rewards programs, the other is employee orientation including a video about how unionizing is bad. Cause then you know things are gonna suck and HR is just there to cover up the workplace problems.

Trust me as someone who used to work for JCPenneys we dont wanna ask anybody for them, but theyre watching us like hawks ESPECIALLY at register. When I worked retail, I actually loved when people asked if we had something in the "back" (it was a department store, I was on the women's clothing floor and our stockroom was on the mens floor down in the basement where barely anyone went because apparently men don't like clothes shopping) We had a computer in the back office that you could check how many of the item was still in stock, I was grateful for the opportunity to check because it meant I finally got a chance to sit down after standing for hours😅😅

At Walmart the back is very complicated and it can take 20 minutes just to find the right shelf for the product, and that's if there isn't any pallets in between the opened aisles (at my Walmart we have special shelf's that are literally right beside each other and you have to press these buttons to move them to create a temporary aisle). (I know I explained it terribly.) Point is don't expect us to actually go back there because if the thing is even there, AND if we can even find it, you'll still probably end up waiting for half an hour at least (less if you're really lucky).
