Whoa…now that’s a boat! Can’t wait to see her in person when we visit Cape Town!

Looks great. Wouldn't it be better to use S-Glass than E-Glass? A boat that has a forward cockpit should probably have a forward helm.

A forward cockpit is not where you want to sail upwind or in a blow or reef your sails unless you want to wear slickers. To my mind the best part of a forward cockpit is a place to sit at anchor or when sailing off the wind. It is also fine to manage headsails. When it is cold and wet the place to reef and manage the primary sails is on the bulkhead in my view, so the 750 is designed to do that, but of course if someone wanted a helm there or a joystick for autopilot on a 750 we could easily do it. We find that e-glass in combination with carbon and epoxy is ideal for us.

@@balancecatamarans Chris White's Atlantics seem relatively dry in their forward cockpits. Perhaps Peter Johnstone's Gunboats are wetter. Depends on hull shape, bridgedeck design, etc. Generally, the larger the boat, the farther the spray needs to go to reach the forward helm. Agree it would be a wetter place to reef from, but a forward helm centralizes and shortens lines better. Tradeoffs need to take into account the typical uses too. Most people cruise downwind most of the time.

@@balancecatamarans P.S. The Windelo forward cockpit seems significantly better protected than Chris' or Gunboat's.
