A defining era in art history where artists began to "reject the stage-managed approach" to compositions and paint observing their immediate surroundings. Also know as "The School of 1830," is comprised of artists Jules Breton, Julien Dupre, Rosa Bonheur, Diaz de la Peña and many more. The Barbizon School is considered to be the predecessor of what later became known as the Impressionist Movement and influenced artists like Manet, Renoir, Monet, Cézanne, Pissarro and many others.
