the first time i tried out this tutorial it was hard ,but now i am able to understand it but i had to first find another models django tutorial from another teacher then compare it to this one. just an advice to beginners dont give up took me one week to get it . i really enjoyed antony's shell than the other instructor

Great instruction, Anthony! I finally get the whole idea of Models in Django. I'm still not sure why one wouldn't use SQL to insert data as I come from a solid SQL background. I'm yet to understand how does one balance the power of the ORM and the power of the database esp. with functions, cursors, Procs, triggers, etc. Just voicing out as a beginner. Will mature soon. I have a question: how would you make it so that the object were created by django itself and not in the shell. Hello thank you for the great video. ...I have a django project and it's slightly different from all django project videos I see. ...I have a docs folder right next to the templates folder. ..in the docs folder I have text files. ...when i update or add text document files in the shell console and I follow all your steps to save and migrate and migrations. .it doesn't add the text file to the docs folder and when i look up the words on my browser it only returns the original text files. ..not the text file I added. .....even though if I go back to the python shell console and I can query the new added text file. .it's there.....how can I solve this? ??.....Jessica

Really amazing video I just wanted to ask about connecting the programmer table to the company table, how did django know that I wanted the column ID to from the table company to be the foreign key column in the programmer table, and what if I wanted to have a different column as a foreign key

I read or try to read books on django. the problem is django structure is a little more confusing as to where to go to find commands and the structure and formate of commands like documentation might show. the thing that I was wondering can you help kind of going through django documentation and books and help us understand the django module commands and structure and the examples in books. the commands to some extent carry over from networking but I think what I need help is how to interpert terms, the examples in the book, and helping us see what they are saying.

Hi I have a question regarding fields. I am trying to make a page for FIFA that has a leaderboard that will display a class 'Player' as well as a list of game history that shows the score of the game, the date of the game played, and connect the users to the game. What kind of field would I specify for the Game class to show what players played the game? Is there a field that I can input that is Player? or would I use user? or can i only connect the class using their name for string?

how can i create relationships among the supplier,loader,customer,admin and the company

I know this posting is really old but it is a good one. I have a question that I hope anyone can answer here. I am building a mapping tool. It is difficult to create model relationships because the order can be any combination. Ideally, the order is not defined until the user creates it. Which means I have many ManytoMany relationship possibilities. What is the best approach?

Do you know how to alter the table to an already existing database? I want to change the max_length for a field from 100 to 150. I made that change in the models.py and I migrated it and even though the admin is letting me type up to 150 characters I keep getting a database error saying that it will only allow 100. Hello, I'm making database project using django and i've got a problem. Database stores information about flights reservations and among others i've got 2 entities - AIRPORTS(id,name) and ROUTES(id,starting_airport,destination_airport). I want either starting and destination airport being id's took from AIRPORTS. Is there any easy way to do it, is my idea even correct?
