It looks like The Batman is on it's way to clean up at the box office so it's likely they'll green light the trilogy. They've already announced spin-off series on HBO Max for The Penguin and a Gotham PD series.

So in awe of Pattinson. Just in absolute awe of his work in this film. That last scene with the beautiful Giacchino score brimming with hope and loneliness as Bruce and Selina depart one another was spellbinding. Can't stop thinking about it.

I felt that scene and i suppose you’ll have to be a loner at heart to fully embrace it. I cant deny it was sad since the life is about thousand of goodbyes without giving in to the situation. I loved the ending in its simplicity. Nothing more was needed to be said about them and i love how Reeves had the guts to make it this simple, yet so powerful.

It had the tone of seven with a plot like chinatown with a sprinkle of Christine. The Batmobile entrance was pure epic. That was one of the very few small gripes I had. I wanted more of that beast of a batmobile...

the only scene, and I mean THE ONLY one in a whole 3 hour movie that I didn’t like was the one at the very end in the jail. Imma keep it at that for no spoilers incase someone stumbles into this but if you watched the movie you know what I mean. I feel like that was jus tacked on very late and felt rushed and jus fan service. But literally every other scene in this movie is brilliant. Cinematography was just mind blowing. I’m going to see it a second time tomorrow lol.
@jaycehoward2771
@jaycehoward2771 2 жыл бұрын
@@playmate7638 yeah that felt a little gratuitous and even Reeves said he left it in as a nod to the fans. I have a feeling that Hush might be the second film or a version of. Especially with that scene about the reporter being named Edward Elliott. I'm hoping that scene isn't the sequel...

My aunt loves Colin and did not know it was him through the whole movie. Loved seeing her face when I told her it was him after she saw his name in the credits and became very confused as to why she didn’t see her “husband” 😂 Dano was genuinely scary and literally everyone else stood out in their roles. Incredible movie overall.

@@pab1381 Paul definitely stood up the most for me in the entire movie. He brought both the insanity of Nygma with his little tricky games to confuse the enemy. Seems like the most calm and geeky guy but behind the mask an absolute monster. Paul really managed to show the real Edward Nashton by the end of the movie. I hope we can see him more in later movies or any other DC instalment in that regard.

I think that the real beauty of this movie, as many others have said already, is that this is absolutely a Batman movie. The villains are present, but the movie is not about them. Even the Riddler in center-stage is moreso helping Bruce Wayne discover more about himself, and thus deepening his understanding ultimately of what the Batman needs to be for Gotham. By the end of this movie I was so engaged because while it wasn't a big end of the world scenario, Batman lost. Everything was so far out of control that there was almost nothing he could do. And that doesn't just magically clean up, when the movie wraps up a good portion of Gotham is still in ruins, and it is even stated it's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better, but Batman knows that even during those times he has to be a symbol for hope. a reason to see it through.

This was grounded and gritty, and by far the most realistic Batman film to date. People think giving this 10/10 means that we think it is perfect. It isn't about perfection. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Everyone involved on this movie deserves credit for artistic achievement and an attention to detail Stanley Kubrick would be proud of. I didn't think it would be possible to match Nolan's Batman trilogy... but Reeves and the whole crew managed to do so. Well done. Oh, and speaking of that attention to detail: while many people have pointed out the Corvette that Bruce Wayne drives and how it has given a boost to sales, what hasn't been mentioned is that the 1963 Corvette coupe is fondly referred to as "The Split Window" by pistonheads (for the split rear window due to a crease that runs from the windshied to the tail). It is the only 'vette with this particular design element. So Bruce's personal car is split down the middle--just like he is.

Christopher Nolan personally contacted DC Comics writers to interview them on their perspective on Batman, Zack Snyder replicated literal panels from Frank Millers novels. Ben Affleck built a batcave in his basement, and Joel Schumacher Batman Forever was Dick Sprang era translated on screen. Batman films have always portrayed at least one era of the character. Don’t act like just because this is the version you like that the others didn’t “understand” the character.

The Batman is a beautiful foundation for lots of great things that can come. As a film, the action, the story, and the focus on more detective work set good groundwork for who The Batman is at his core. That respect to canon is always what makes a Batfilm great. I appreciate the updated nuances that Matt Reeves gave to Bruce's core story and I can see its promise and potential going forward. I love the feel of Gotham. Great performances from a strong cast. Looking forward to their ongoing arcs and evolutions. I hope that Matt Reeves' Batman series will go six films deep. A trilogy would just be getting the ball rolling by the time everyone basically settles into the quintessential characters we know them to be by in the 3rd film. The cast is at a prime age to keep this going for quite some time and hopefully WB/DC don't get in their own way like they have done in times past and really allow Reeves to go past the conventional endings of a trilogy. I say treat this like the Bond franchise, stretch it out, have a full, massive arc with the Pattinson era and we will get the fullness of the character and his classic rogues gallery over time instead of just moving on to the next guy many years from now. After decades of Batfilms and Batmen, it's time The Batman gets new treatment, so long as Reeves continues to honor and uphold the canon that makes Gotham and these characters rooted in their comics and graphic novels. Once again, great job by Matt Reeves and the cast of The Batman.

First off, I love the movie. Just fantastic. But I want to give a special shout-out to Matt Reeves's moustache; that thing is on point 👍

Matt Reeves understands Batman. Nolan just talks too much and his Batman movies were too pretentious.

I liked how realistic the world is. Batman isn't 100% flawless he takes hits in his fights. You can see the younger Batman still figuring it out from the way he questions what he's doing to how he fights.

Nolan nailed the casting (excluding Katie Holmes) for his FIRST TWO Dark Knight movies...Bale, Oldman, Caine, Freeman, Neeson, Gyllenhaal, Eckhart..and of course, Ledger. And I thought that's it..who can top this role call..?? I think Reeves did it. Pattinson, well..he's growing on me..but, other than him, the rest are just perfect... Kravitz (I think is the BEST live action Selina Kyle to date), Wright (a worthy successor to Oldman), Serkis (surprisingly effective as Alfred), Farrell (unrecognizable as an outstanding Penguin)..and Dano (as a chilling Riddler..the best antithesis to Carrey's take in the 90's, which I also like). As Falcone... I think Tom Wilkinson (who's a non-Italian brit), ironically, physically looks closer to the comic book version..but, John Turturro embodies the character much better..and real.

My favorite batmobile. All the other ones were cool or super high tech, but this one is just pure beast. It’s a scary ass car. Like scary as hell to drive too. The screech it makes when firing up, holy shit. Literally sounds like a bat out of hell.

Absolutely loved the film and I don't remember any other 3hr film keeping m y attention so easily! But, i couldn't stand the whole Joker tease and that really had zero reason to be in there. I'm definitely a huge Joker fan & think he's far away the best comic book villain ever. But at the moment, he's overdone and momentarily played out

100% agree. It would have done him more of a service to left him out because god knows a good Batman story doesnt need Joker but it seems every creator has to throw him in somewhere. I didnt like how he took the limelight from a masterful Riddler (one of the best villains we’ve seen) at that point either. At least i can pretend it was someone else as it wasnt as obvious as the calling card in Batman Begins.
