All cast and crew members worked on all three movies, except for music composer James Newton Howard who did not work on The Dark Knight Rises. Composer Hans Zimmer worked together with Howard on the first two films and made the soundtrack for the last movie by himself. Katie Holmes played Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins, but was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight. Liam Neeson appeared as Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins and in The Dark Knight Rises. Heath Ledger received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger died before the movie was released and the award was given posthumously.
Each of the three movies was a success in the box office; The Dark Knight was the number one grossing movie in 2008.[4] The Dark Knight Rises is the third highest grossing movie of 2012. Batman Begins is the ninth highest grossing movie in 2005. Batman Begins earned $372,710,015 worldwide. The Dark Knight earned $1,023,045,358. The Dark Knight Rises earned $1,081,041,287, passing the receipts of The Dark Knight. In both Batman Begins and in The Dark Knight, Gotham City was shot in Chicago, Illinois. In The Dark Knight Rises, Gotham City was shot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, New York City, New York, and Los Angeles, California.

I think we need the mantle passed on in the Dark Knight series. It would be fitting to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt take on the role of Robin, or even Nightwing, with Christian Bale returning in the first quarter of the film and dawning the Batman Attire to fight along side Robin or Nightwing. I think it would be nice to see them team up to take on some other villains from the comics or from the cartoon series, like the Deathstroke, Mad-Hatter, Hugo Strange, or Black Mask.

I don't understand why DC/WB hasn't made a Batman Multiverse movie like Marvel did with Spider-Man. most of us have been exposed to at lease 6 interpretations of live action Batmen, some with their own Jokers as well. I know Directors or Studios have this thing about recasting actors, but I'd be ok with it if the performance is spot on, There are tons of armatures and cosplayers who have done Ledger's Joker and a handful have the character down. Cant remember if 'DC Studios" is now a thing or going to be, it was said that Discovery was planning to re-organize things and that they wanted a dedicated studio for DC; but maybe we can get such a film now....

The ultimate conclusion to Batman's story is just an 'on screen' reference to him i.e. "after Batman left Gotham there was a continuing need...", where being a movie entirely about The Rise of Robin.

What makes Batman, Batman? He’s a vigilante who doesn’t kill, does what’s necessary for justice, and never gives up no matter what. What if we have him indiscriminately kill at will, and then give up for a long time because he’s sad that his girlfriend died, and then retire permanently for no reason? Excellent idea, Mr. Nolan!

They are going to mess up the trilogy. Hardy was able to ride the joker wave but they will just not be able to somewhat match dark knight 2. Leave what’s good and perfect alone..

Then Again Warner Bros Discovery David Zaslav still want James Gunn DCU. If they brought back bale as batman they need to bring in the bat-family. No and if or but bring the bat-family. If not, don't bother to make other batman films. No one needs christian bale's crap. When he said he'd chain himself if the studio made him work with a robin recast. Get another batman. Why put up with his craziness?
