It's because they haven't seen him in anything since Twilight(which, even that, he played the character from the book). People need to check out The Lighthouse and Good Time.

@@Shawn4815162342 , yeah and I don't think half the people who doubt him because of "Twilight" even saw those movies. Like you said he played a character. I think he did a good job as Edward. How else to you play a guy who sees himself as a monster but is pretending to.be human; only to fall for a girl who seems always one step away from death. Good or bad once he committed to the part he had to deal with the storyline the writer came up with.

Hey you even forgot how Michael Keaton casting as batman in 1989 was met with severe backlash where even social media was not present. People wrote lots of letters to studio to change casting. But once the film was released almost every one changd their opinion about the casting decision. I think batman is the only superhero franchise where people are very cautious about casting decision.

People need to lay off the "Mr. Twilight" shit.. I'm sorry but it just comes off ignornat, you gotta realize he's been killing it ever since those movies...The dudes got solid credentials and acting chops. I knew he could have a lot of potential when it was announced, and just like with Heath Ledger and Ben Affleck he proved almost everyone wrong(regardless if you dont like BvS he still had a lot of moments in that) I was just worried about the physicality aspect with Pattinson but it looks promising all around..

You are right about him speaking "I am Vengeance" in the comics and cartoon btw. In the comics the full phrase is "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am batman" it would be cool if the 2and batman movie he says "I am the night" and then the 3rd he says "I am batman" to build up that phrase

Well, I think they cut the other part out only leaving I'm vengeance to make the trailer short. We see that scene continued twice with him getting shot then him rising after beating the guy. Though I think if they left "I'm vengeance" I'd be cool with that.

"I am Batman," is just a paraphrasing. The whole statement is, "I am Vengeance! I am the Night! I am Batman!" This is going to be amazing. Also, the thing about Robert not working out is B.S. lol Classic Robert trolling he tends to do in interviews. His physique building routine was designed around laying greater stress on a lithe, agile frame for the Dark Knight rather than mass bulk. He also trained his ass off in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His Batman is early 'year two' into fighting crime. He's a young, lean, martial arts machine and not yet seasoned into being a human tank. It's perfect.

I wish people would realize Rob likes to troll in his interviews. When he said he is doing absolutely nothing he was trolling. Hes always interviewed like that. Rob has great movies that are not Twilight. Good Time, The Lighthouse and Cosmopolis and some of my favorite of his. Not to mention Tenet thats out now.

I'm wondering he doesn't put the makeup when he is Batman he puts it on as Bruce Wayne when he's out investigating. So people aren't like Bruce Wayne why are you showing up at weird places.

@@daleravic He does put it on when he's Batman, that's why you don't see skin around his eyes while his mask is on because he has black eye shadow on. The other Batman's wear the black eye shadow as well but it just magically disappears whenever they take off the mask. In this movie, the black eye shadow doesn't magically disappear.

Good Lord That was over 10 years ago and he’s proved himself to be an amazing actor in so many roles since!!! Try watching “A Good Time” or “The Lighthouse”. I literally called this since they announced his casting. Matt Reeves likened him to Caesar from planet of the apes and from the way he directed Caesar, it was evident he CARES about the source. Pattinson to this role was the ledger casting. His voice also sounds PERFECT. NEVER DOUBTED HIM. this film might combine Court of Owls with Riddler. Thomas Wayne is definitely implicated.

this really reminds me of the arkham games i played when i was younger! as well as the court of the owls and the hush. this batman is so much more grittier and darker. robert pattison is a great actor. can’t wait for this movie. october 2021 is so far away. and robert was just kidding about not working out. great reaction.

Robert Pattinson was really good in The Lighthouse, he literally played the whole spectrum of human emotion and mental state in that movie. He was the straight man, the psychotic drunk, the pathetic subordinate and the sinister roomie in that film. Being Batman and Bruce Wayne is gonna be a walk in the park for him.

"I didn't watch Justice League," followed by "It's a bad movie." You can't say it was bad if you haven't seen it. lol You can say you heard it was bad or it didn't look good to you, but you're in no position to make that statement. And this is coming from someone who watched the movie and did NOT like it. I also enjoyed it less than BvS, but that's just me.

We finally get to see a Batman movie where it's more detective and we see him doing the work instead of getting a clue then being like "OH IT MUST BE OVER THERE". Think the next villain for this Batman trilogy will be two-face and penguin, who will work together.

I was one of the many who wasn't sold on Mr Pattinson for the role (especially, after Bale & Duckman)... but like you, I've changed my opinion. That whole scene, beating that thug and then saying, "Vengeance"... WOOOW, goosebumps.

Great reaction! It's always fun when it gets to the fight scene and everyone is sold on Pattinson immediately. Just fyi, he's pretty notorious for bullshitting in interviews. I think he is absolutely training for the role. He just doesn't want to have a million press junkets talking about how much chicken he had to eat. Directors who have worked with him, like the Saftie brothers, have said that he likes to give off the vibe that he doesn't care or know what he's doing but he's actually incredibly obsessive and intense about his roles. I think he's gonna kill it.

In Batman 1989 Batman also has these Black eyes but we never see them without his mask🤷🏻♂️but when you look at his eyes underneath the mask you can see this.

Having seen it, it is crazy how much was shown in the new trailer that wasn't in Whedon's version. He cut a lot out! I loved Whedon's Avenger's films but his Justice League was meh. I believe the Snyder cut will feel like a different movie and hopefully for the better.

First reaction I've seen where people were honest about doubting Pattinson at first. Most reactions start with "I never doubted him" when a ton of people were laughing when the news broke, so thumbs up to you guys for being honest.

and to think, as Matt Reeves stated at DC Fandome before introducing the BATMAN trailer ... they have only filmed 25% of the film ... and this trailer was sick ... imagine how epic the remaining 75% will be.
