The Algerian women having to cut their hair short in order to bear a sacrifice for a revolution to liberate their homeland of their children and grandchildren is truly inspirational! Indonesia 🇮🇩 our women did almost the same.

Yes, they had to cut their hair short to blend in with the french but unfortunetely they sacrificed themselves in order to get the independence, even tho they could’ve enjoy their lives. However they won't be forgotten.

My favorite scene in the film, along with the girl with cut and dyed hair dancing ever so slightly to the cha-cha playing on the Milk Bar jukebox before leaving her bomb and the place behind. Makes you feel she might like to live a little in both worlds. But as she says to the flirty soldier earlier, "Who knows"? Also, the woman who places the bomb at the cafeteria has the most haunting (and yet beautiful) poker face I've ever seen.

The woman is Zahra Darif. She became an icon and the wife of an Algerian president after independence. Who knew she would do so?

حسيبة وزهرة وجميلة جميلات وبطلات قاموا بتحطيم في بلايس لي يسكنوا فيهم فرانسويين المجد لنساء الجزائر البطلات لي دافعوا على بلادهم وشرافهم وحب وطنهم والله يرحم الشهيدات البطلات لي شاركوا في الثورة التحريرية والمرأة الجزائرية لعبت دور كبير في الثورة كا الممرضة ومسبلة وفدائية ومناضلة ومرشدة كانو يحملون ....... قنابل في المقاهي مثل:حسيبة وزهرة وسامية وكاهينة الله يرحمهم ويدخلهم جنة فردوس وراني مفتاخر بانساء بلادي لي دافعوا على شرافهم وكافحوا على وطنهم الغالي وهو الجزائر وان حن مستقلين في بلادنا الحرة وهذا بفضل النساء البطلات اللواتي لعبن دورا هاما في الثورة وحد الان لازم نحتارموا ونقدروا النساء الجزائريات لان وكان ماشي هوما لي دافعوا على الوطن الغالي وكان حنا مراناش هنا :المجد والخلود لشهيداتنا البرار تحيا الجزائر حرة مستقلة
