You haven't seen ww2 Chinese films. A guy with a medieval sword wiped out an entire japanese army single handed. One professional chinese japanese soldier extra said he would died 10 to 20 times a day while working on a film.

Not unless the other person knows he is not good at 1v1 then he wouldnt want to take the risk so if you're a commander or general compare to a duelist then you would battle by strategic war instead of 1v1. Its not about sportsmanship. It is EVERYTHING!
