Inspiring Millions to paint outdoors This video is about Touch Move and Inspiring. Get a free Book at his website www.StefanBaumann.com. The paintings of Stefan Baumann reveal the true spirit of nature by transporting the viewer to distant lands that have gone unseen and undisturbed. With the huge success of Baumann’s weekly PBS television series “The Grand View: America’s National Parks through the Eyes of an Artist,” millions of people witness for themselves the magic Stefan portrays on canvas, his passion for nature and the American landscape. By distilling his love of nature into a luminous painting of brilliant, saturated color that transcends conventional landscape and wildlife art, Baumann has captured the hearts and imaginations of a generation. Each painting becomes an experience rather than merely a picture - a vivid manifestation of his special and personal union with nature and the outdoor world. Through his mastery of light, color and artful composition, Baumann invites you to experience nature in its purity. It is no wonder that for many years distinguished American collectors, including former presidents and financial icons, have sought out his work.

Nice! What were you thinking? The million dollar question! Absolutely on target! We should always question ourselves when painting, even when you have to do it all over. Thanks Stefan, great tips and wise advice. I love you! Blessings and take care! So nice to see you live again!

I started watching your videos a few years ago, and you really inspired me to start painting again after a 12 year break! I’m always trying to incorporate the effect of light in each painting because of your lessons, and it makes a world of difference! Most of my paintings are out of my head, so sometimes it’s really hard to imagine everything and every way the light touches some things, but when out in nature, that’s what I’m looking for - the effect of light! Bless you for being such an inspiration to many!

I'm soooo glad you make these videos, Master Yoda. They have changed my life. Thank you. I already knew the answer to your question, "What is Art?" It's a form of communication from the artist to the viewer. It can go far beyond words and can evoke specific emotions, hopefully feelings the artist desired to express in his/her work. I sometimes write songs and that same result is what I hope for with each song. I would like to study the connection on how certain colors and certain notes can evoke the same feelings. I think that somehow mathematics is the common denominator in both. I should study that connection when I get time.

As much as I agree on focal points and lighting, I find it very effective to paint the pictures as seen in this video, however, as the last step, applying shadows and darks in a wash or glaze is all it takes. Details are awesome in the structure of the elements but some paintings need to be shadowed in the end and the final process is adding the light its easy. its a shame many people stop before the icing on the cake. Thank you for the video lesson Mr. Baumann

I'm trying to get out of leading a plein air group of women who won't paint before 10 am or after 2 pm or if it's too hot or too cold or might rain. Then I'm supposed to critique. What's wrong with my painting? Nothing, it looks exactly like an extension of your mind. This year's schedule will be: on location set up and ready to paint at 5:30, new location at 7:30. Done at 9:30. If you can sell your paintings, they are good. If you can't they are not. I think I'm going to enjoy painting by myself this year!

I gotta learn when to put down the brush and walk away from a painting until I'm "back in the right place". Messed up a great painting because I didn't. Paint and learn and mature I suppose.

Just keep painting. That will happen less often. :) And knowing how to "fix' is part of knowing how to paint. I started making the most progress when I finally learned how to WIPE OFF! lol. (I have that little rubber wipe out tool and q tips, and a "clean" boar bristle brush can wipe off too.) But yeah, learning when to take a break is part of it too.

Stefan, it's so great to see new vids from you! I love them all and I love you. So I'm really WONDERING........ are you saying you are GOING to give us the secret of temperature in this youtube series now? I would LOVE to have you for a coach but I am not in the right income bracket for that. I have watched EVERY one of your youtube vids. I have been learning to paint with oils with the limited knowledge that I have and it's going OKAY. I'm making progress but every time you say how important temperature is I know that I don't know enough about THAT. It really BUGS me. A LOT! I've looked "all over" for that specific info and you are right, it's hard to find cuz I have not found it yet! And now I'm not sure if you said in the first of these 2 that you are going to finally teach it on youtube for us, or do we still need to hire you as a coach to really get that info. Or did you say you will make it available on a patreon thing? I might be able to afford that but I dont' know how to get to your patreon "site". I'm not really very familiar with patreon I just know it's a paid subscription via youtube. JUST WONDERING! I really do want to know about the TEMPERATURE SECRET. Is it coming soon or can you tell me how I can get it on my budget? Thanks !! PS I've gotten HINTS about it from watching your vids but it still feels like I need it really spelled out! Help me please! :) PS IS that info in your free book online?

Actually that light green tree in the middle is totally catches my attention away from the house, actually the white bark of it even leading my eyes out of the picture.

Can't see the red. Looks like 2 focal points: the lighted bottom of the house and the yellow tree. The tree would work better to the left of the house, a little bit lower.

I have been looking for her work for years, when I was at her apartment in SF her room was filled with so much art. I'm afraid that when she died they just cleaned out her room and dumped her work. she had no family in us, she came from Poland and left during the second world war. I'm afraid that since there is no trace of her work anywhere a life time work of work was just thrown away.

The lady said she id the painting for a good friend, wouldnt hang it in her home, yet only gave her friend a print...why make the print? Not only that, she framed it.... So i have a hard time believinfpg she thought it was a bad painting, i believe she thought it was amazing and wanted to be complimented...her story makes no sense... It is a decent painting...i am not a fan of still life paintings...but it is kitsch, someone would want it... Just tell the truth about it, be honest...own your work...
