Recorded at the Beach Boys historic concert at Knebworth House on June 21st 1980. It proved to be the last time that the original Beach Boys (Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, and Alan Jardine) would appear together on a UK stage.
The Beach Boys are one of the most successful groups of all time clocking up 28 UK Top 40 singles and numerous hit albums, with ‘Pet Sounds’ being generally regarded as one of the all-time great albums and “Good Vibrations” being voted the best single ever released in Mojo magazine's poll.
The ‘Good Timin’: Live At Knebworth, England 1980’ album includes virtually all The Beach Boys’ classics such as “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Sloop John B,” “Lady Lynda,” “I Get Around,” “Barbara Ann,” “Wouldn't It Be Nice,” “Surf...”

"I can hear Music", was Carl at his best. That was his best work. As good as this song is, he did even better in "I can hear Music". Check it out and judge for yourselves. It's on Utube done in 1969.

Keena No way. Brian is the Beach Boys, the others were his messengers. As Dennis put it. Carl had the best voice for sure, but Brian is the one who wrote almost all of the great music they produced

When they do a tribute to Carl during concerts they use this performance both for Carl’s vocals (the other vocal parts are done live) and they also use it on the video display when Carl was on camera (for the parts of the video where Carl is not on camera they do a photo montage with many old pictures of Carl and the others).

There's something very Bachian about this song. Those inversions and the tension with that diminished chord in the verse. Johann and Brian know well how to tug at the heart strings. Works every time.

Of all the versions of this incredible song I've ever seen, this is the best! The Knebworth concert was the last time that all original members of The Beach Boys performed together. Carl was superb as always, but this one was special. Rest In Peace.
