• Revitalized Beatles: 2...
• 1960's British Music I...
This is a minor remix of The Beatles' 'Come Together,' sourced from the '1' album version. I believe the small modifications I have made result in a major 'never heard before' listen.
Most noticeably, I have isolated and separated Paul's vocal from John's vocal which occupied the same space. McCartney's brief vocal contribution can now be heard more prominently, revealing a more 'swampy' and 'gritty' feel, especially with his rare lower-pitched harmony.
In this new mix, the drums are more centered, with the kick drum dead center throughout the entire song. The drums still retain a stereo spread, allowing them to balance better within the guitar in the left channel and the keyboard in the right channel for a more natural feel. This also improves the clarity of the guitars and keyboard, which were competing with the lower end of the drums in other versions.
My remixes, including this one, always strive to stay true to the original. Some listeners who are less familiar with the song might not notice the differences, but many will hear the changes immediately! I haven't added anything that wasn't part of the original recording and have not used any pseudo-type acoustics that drain energy from the recording. It is strictly an isolation de-mixing of the vocal and instruments and a remixing of those elements in a style common to the era of the original.
Thanks for listening!

This 79 year old was there at the Cavern lunchtime sessions watching John, Paul, George and Pete before Ringo joined. And I'm delighted to still being alive to witness the best band ever still being listened to. How true was Mr Lennon in a 1963 interview, when asked, will the public remember you in 10 years time, he answered " they'll never be able to forget us"

I’m reminded hearing this fresh new remix of what made them so special. They could sing and play at the very highest levels, no limitations whatsoever. But, what really separated them from their peers was an almost unimaginable gift for arrangement and production. The spaces in this song take ones breath away. No one else did this. The arrangement is more like a perfectly directed scene than almost anything heard in music of the time and they could do this over and over, filling an entire side of an album with one unique masterwork after another. I feel so fortunate to have been there to witness this mastery in real time.

Great track. One of the best on Abbey Road. It demonstrates the collective genius of the Beatles. It was originally John's idea but it was Paul who suggested slowing it down, introducing a swampy vibe then adding his amazing bass line.

I've heard McCartney say in interviews that he was hurt not to be asked to sing the back up harmony and that John chose to overdub it himself. But listening to this separation of the parts it does sound like Paul on the second vocal. 😊❤
@whatspadethinks
@whatspadethinks 2 ай бұрын
Paul's memory isn't the best ever; considering the 20 lifetimes jammed into his life it's understandable. I always took that quote as him saying John didn't ask him to sing the harmony live WITH him on the same mic like they did in the earlier days. Either way the supposed "debate " about whether it's Paul or John doing the harmony is baffling. It's McCartney singing 100%. Lennon didn't have that Fats Domino/Lady Madonna voice that McCartney has. I mean it's clear as day...
@Kossman58
@Kossman58 2 ай бұрын
I think that was in reference to the keyboard part. Paul originally played it and John watched what he played. John later went back and did it again. That's the rumour I think.

Once more, the devil (so to speak) is in the details: Paul's Bass and Ringo's Bass Drum are more nuanced and present; the Guitars are just right; and the Electric Piano timbre is fuller-sounding than ever before. This mix sounds SO organic and natural-its various elements gently nestled against a backdrop of black velvet silence. Sometimes I think that the wonderful results you get are as much a product of the removal of any trace of hiss as they are in the enhancement of each sound element, but of course your rearrangement of the sound space is once again superb! Thanks yet again. True to form, here's my lyrical parody of "Come Together" with the song recast as a Florida area adverse weather report. (Al Roker is a television personality who has worked as a weather presenter in the U.S.A.) Cheers-Don ---------------------------------------- CRUMMY WEATHER
(sung by a John Lennon sound-alike to the tune of 'Come Together' by The Beatles) Here comes low pressure; it's keeps movin' in slowly.
It's got short-range wind squalls bringing rolling blackouts; It could tear down limbs off trees And terrify Al Roker with its hurricane breeze.
 It's bearing moisture bringing mucho rainfall. It's got high potential to cause Pensacola To see lots of flooding from the sea.
 Have your fam'ly car gassed up in case you must flee!
 Crummy weather, right now over me!
Our news production has been Walmart-sponsored: They've got bottled water and canned soups and crackers; They've got Wheat Thins and cheddar cheese, Batteries and flashlights, bottled water and teas.
 Crummy weather, right now over me! Right! [Piano and Guitar solos] Crum-my crum-my... It's a big depression and our Early-Warning
 System's spotted twisters in the East Panhandle. Here our Doppler images you see Show there's trouble cooking west of Tallahassee. Crummy weather, right now over me! Oh!
 [Guitar solo outro] Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Uhhhhhhh… Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather, yeah! Crummy weather...

There are some stray sounds on a couple of other songs I was wondering if you could do away with? There are a few stray piano sounds at the break before the word Think! on The 2015 remix of The Ballad of John and Yoko that aren't on the original mix. There are also some stray sounds just before The End on Abbey Road where all the instruments come to a crashing halt that also aren't on the original mix. Finally I was wondering if you could recreate the LOVE mix of Revolution, with the separated guitars, except for the entire song, unlike the show soundtrack.
