In many ways, George was my favorite Beatle. He was quiet, thoughtful, understated, underrated, oft overlooked, and let John + Paul stand in the spotlight while he worked behind the scenes, getting better and better. He never tried to upstage them. When his time come, he showed his own greatness. He had quite a sense of humor, too,...

@skinnyaxel5914
@skinnyaxel5914 4 жыл бұрын
Bob F. This was mostly Paul’s song, but when he showed it to John for the first time, they both cringed over some parts of the lyrics and then John came with his suggestions for lyrics. So this is a Lennon/McCartney, maybe one of the first. Paul doesn’t take all credit himself, he says it’s a Lennon/McCartney.

Bob F. In a video on KZfaq, Paul goes in-depth on lyrics and says that this probably was the first Lennon/McCartney. But it’s no secret that Paul and John had different stories about songs, often the opposite of each other.

It’s so sweet when George does the head shake thing during I saw her standing there. Despite all his very conflicted emotions about the Beatles (and the issues they were going through when this happened), he still clearly really enjoyed playing that song and bringing back a bit of the old times. It’s also extremely George that he would’ve just played acoustic guitar and let someone else play electric guitar.

I can never put into words how much I absolutely love the Beatles. There was a show on my local radio station called “ Beatle Brunch” in the early 90’s where they would play Beatles songs and then give you a inside story to the song. My pops and and I would listen every Sunday and it literally changed my life. My pops growing up with the band had so much knowledge and when we got to the “I buried Paul” on strawberry fields I was obsessed. This band is why I love music.

I just love Ringo... he was the most humble and most approachable of all the Beatles... He and George were a lot alike and they seemed so grateful for how blessed their lives were... I miss John, and I miss George, too. I think Ringo remains my favorite Beatle... he was the most real and down to earth, it seems... and it's true that he WAS the "luckiest man on earth" to have become the world's most famous drummer in the world's most famous and most successful rock band E V E R ! There will never be another band or another set of personalities like The Beatles... It was pure magic, kismet and could only happen once... and it did. I feel so fortunate to have grown up in the decade of The Beatles - the Sixties... the timing was perfect.

The guy standing next to Jeff here playing guitar with the big blonde hair is Dave Edmunds. I was in a pub in Wales once and Dave was in there having a pint. After a bit of chatting the landlord handed us a guitar each and we jammed for about half an hour or so. Dave said "you're a pretty good guitar player." I was chuffed to bits. He's produced George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Roy Orbison and many others. That's my little claim to fame.

Rock and Roll is a mixture of gospel blues boogie woogie rockabilly and country music. Bill Haley Buddy Holly Jerry Lee Lewis Fats Domino Richie Valens Big Bopper Elvis are all great pioneers of what we call the beginning of Rock and Roll. The Beatles wrote a lot of songs not just for themselves but for other people. As a matter of fact the Beatles wrote The Rolling Stones first #1 hit for the stones. The 60’s brought out the best music ever and sadly we will never have great musicians like that ever again. Eric Clapton Janis Joplin Joe Cocker Jimmy Hendrix and don’t forget the great Motown sound. You also have a lot of great musicians that were one hit wonders and you have a lot of greats that started in the 60’s that didn’t get their big beak until the 70’s Bob Seger is one of them. We all have our favorites and we can all argue until we blue in the face!!! I’m soooo glad that I have gotten to witness the best music to ever live!!! Oh and who ever mentioned the Monkeys they were the first lip sync band they didn’t know how to play an instrument!!!! Oh and to the one that said Cajun music appreciation class can just kiss my ass!!!!! We have the best local talent of Cajun Zydeco musicians in Louisiana that goes way back before your precious rock and roll groups!!!

George had filed another lawsuit against Paul a few days before the ceremony. He wanted a bigger cut from the Lennon/McCartney credits stating he helped write those songs. Paul was deeply upset by it and felt that a Beatles reunion would be a farce under those circumstances. Therefore, he didn't attend. It wasn't the first time George sued for more money, whilst keeping the Northern Songs credits to himself even though John and Paul helped him with his songs far more than vice versa. Earlier, he spoke negatively about Paul in an interview, calling him a hypocrite for getting a better deal from Apple than the others did, though that had less to do with Paul himself than with the fact that he simply had a better lawyer. After having endured several such personal attacks, not just from George but from John (and Yoko) and Ringo as well, it's hardly surprising Paul didn't feel like putting on an act for the Beatles induction.

@tinmania *OMG! YOU just plagiarised an answer written by a random person, Chantal De Paus on a gossip rife Quora site on April 25, 2017 and she is very WRONG!!* Here is her original you copied: www.quora.com/Why-wasnt-Paul-McCartney-at-the-Beatles-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-induction-ceremony?top_ans=42682189 *Fact:* Paul was in a lawsuit with the remaining Beatles and Yoko regarding Apple business disputes. Do your own research from factual first hand sources. Watch what Paul McCartney was filmed saying about the reason for his non attendance. He was also quoted from the same interview in *1988!* 🙄

*George was NOT personally suing Paul at all!* Stop spreading lies. Paul was suing the other 3 regarding the dissolution of Apple - nothing at all about song royalties - and it wasn't just days before the ceremony at all!
