You gotta listen to this song at least 6 times: 1st: George’s lovely vocals 2nd: George’s perfect lead guitar 3rd: John’s silent yet present rhythm guitar 4th: Paul’s insane bass (personal favorite) 5th: Ringo’s powerful drums 6th: George Martin’s hauntingly beautiful orchestra

"George had a smugness on his face when he came in with this one, and rightly so - he knew it was absolutely brilliant. And for the first time, John and Paul knew that George had risen to their level"."Paul started playing a bass line that was a little elaborate, and George told him, 'No, I want it simple.' Paul complied. There wasn't any disagreement about it, but I did think that such a thing would never happened in years past. George telling Paul how to play the bass? Unthinkable! But this was George's baby, and everybody knew it was an instant classic". Geoff Emerick

One of the things I love about The Beatles is listening to the journey of George's evolution, you have these two songwriting powerhouses in Lennon/McCartney making masterpieces left right and centre from the beginning and then at the very end they finally both agreed that their overshadowed 'little brother' made the best song in their final album together as the Beatles.

Jess Velarde - Rubber Soul and Help! were already remixed for the 1987 CD reissues because George Martin was forced to release everything after Beatle’s For Sale In Stereo and he didn’t like the original Stereo Mixes for Help! and Rubber Soul. That’s why among the 1987 CDs those two kind of stand out as having better quality. Those remixes were essentially what they used for the 2009 reissues. I wouldn’t mind them having another crack at them though.
