The last scene of this film gutted me. He shuts the camera and walks away into his daughter's memories. The only place people who've left us still remain

This song feels like you're standing on the edge of the existence, as if there's noting but the depression pouring into your mind and putting it in chains of some vague, nostalgic or melancholic feeling. The soundtrack beautifully expresses and complements the plot of this film. A pure masterpiece.

He's just not my favorite, because he didn't stick with me for positive reasons, but he's second best for hitting me over the head with a nail a nail that, along with The Room, will stay with me for a long time.

I honestly agree that this movie deserves more than a single nomination, and many may connect or others abhor it, the movie is quite moving and depressing at the same time, and it would have been great if they nominated for best director, best screenplay, or best movie But yes, the nomination for best actor for Paul Mescal is pure gold and he deserves it, his performance is the best and he captivated me, we'll see how he does today at the Oscars because everyone in the best category actor, everyone (including him) is the best. PS: Who else cried while listening to Under Pressure???

This film remembers me to much of my aunt, in 2020 she commited suicide, now i understand why she sleeped too much in the afternoons, why she always tried to give us presents. My biggest regret was not say i love you, while i could. Auntie i hope your are in peace with grandpa, love ya.

I don't think I've ever been this mad at The Academy for overlooking such a phenomenal film since The Lighthouse. What a beautiful and exceptional film -- especially from a first-time director!

As I watched this movie I felt so touched because they had such an amazing love for each other as father and daughter (I never experienced that) but then I slowly realized what the dad was feeling the entire time and I was devastated (my sister also has depression) and the ending literally made me cry, I still can't stop thinking about this movie and how tragic and beautiful it is...

@@indomito888 the dad suffered from depression, the movie was about the last trip he made with his daughter trying to give her a good time. It's sad because not even his daughter's love could save him at the end. It's implied that he died :(

For me, who lost my father this year, being 21 years old, and having two conflicting emotions as my last memory, this film is devastating. You don't even need to identify with the situation, because the direction of this film makes everything universal, but for me it was stronger because as much as I believe that I gave my father a good life, this film showed me that nothing is enough and that no matter how much these figures hurt us, I feel that It could have been better, I I wish he had retired, that he could finally rest and I could do something for him but he was taken away.

I love how the movie is happy to run at a very slow pace instead of trying to add to much conflict between the two main characters and let’s you spend time getting to know them which makes the ending even more brutal.

One of the best movies of last year. I still can't believe it was Charlotte Wells' first feature film. Incredible, it doesn't seem like there's any Oscar buzz for this movie, which I understand, it's a lot more understated than most of the other great movies this year. It reminded me a lot of 'An Cailin Ciuin', just a beautiful story that takes its time to really unfold.

This film is so tragic. To watch a man teeter on the edge of oblivion and see his family deal with the aftermath when he is gone… it’s such a beautifully sad film.

When a movie marks a song to me like this marked Under Pressure, than I'll never forget its reframing it's because it's a great movie, because it goes beyond that I have rare copies that treat depression as it should be without being too dramatic but without having a solution and cinematography marks the horrible part of this process upside down for me Aftersun and Melancolia made the best movies about this complicated theme.

the first time i watched this film, i honestly felt like i was lost for the first 20-30 minutes because the story and primary tensions are so subtly employed. once it all clicked into place and i really started understanding it, the film went from entertaining and enjoyable to heartbreaking and scary. the final shot still gives me chills. i watched it a second time the very next morning, and somehow all of those pieces started hitting me right from the beginning and it was an even better experience. if you have only seen this film once, i recommend giving it another watch to really catch the minutia. there were so many details and ideas i missed that it was just as captivating the entire way. that's how i knew i was watching a masterpiece.
