It’s beautiful that even as demons their sibling love knows no bounds. Gyutaro is kind of like Tanjiro in a way, always there for his little sister and is willing to go through Hell for her. Just one example of how a demon’s humanity can shine through even after losing it

i think it’s interesting how at the beginning of both daki and gyutaro’s fights they’re both seen as seriously unhuman monsters, but later into their fights they both show childish manners, with daki having a tantrum and gyutaro bullying and teasing tanjiro with names. just shows how young they were when they were turned into demons and that it affected them into their demon lives even if they can’t remember much of their past.

I wanted to mention something about Gyutaru’s demon appearance. I am interested in his form. I think Gyutaru may of had sickle cell blood disease as a human. His appearance when he was human correlates with the disease and it so happens to be his blood demon art. Gyutaru had markings on his skin as a human as well which is usually an anemic rash which is associated with sickle cell disease. The whites of his eyes were yellow as a human which is considered jaundice of the eyes which is also a symptom that relates to sickle cell disease.

Ita really interestint that Daki views ugly people as worthless but still loves his brother and Gyutaro, who is envious to those who are more fortunate and beautiful, loved his sister. Their bond together was more stronger than their hate to the world.

Also it seems Daki was given the chance of going to heaven 'cause you can see a light opposite to Gyutaro, but she decided to stay with her brother even if that meant going to hell 😿

In my opinion one of the saddest things about Daki and Gyutaro is that probably the closest thing to an act of kindness they were ever shown was by a literally psychopath who was in the middle of eating a person

Gyutaro is exactly the type of character that I like, those who do not regret the path they chose even after defeat!!! I just love when they maintain such a firm conviction plus Gyutaro wanting to rob the blessed of their fortune as a payback for their suffering as humans is really interesting especially when contrasting with Tengen (Though tengen still had people to be with him like his wives and the master)!!

3:10 Interestingly enough, Daki is also the chinese name Tamamo no Mae used when she was the wife of the emperor. You know, when she made literal human hamburgers and fed them to the families of the victims.

The moment i saw Gyutaro's reveal, i immediatly thought of the Twin Princes from Dark Souls 3. Lorian, Elder Prince, who is a powerfull knight that wields a greatsword. Lothric, Younger Prince, a crippled magic user who fights on Lorian's back. Lorian sacrificed everything for Lothric, even tied their souls together, making sure they would stay by each other's side through fire and brimstone.

Slightly unrelated but I can't stop laughing at the fact that Daki can mean degenerate and is also used to refer to dakis or dakimakuras, the anime body pillows that people get called degenerates or daki for. Very silly but it made me laugh all the same.

One of many parallels Gyutaro and Daki have which makes them dark reflections of Tanjirou and Nezuko is that while Tanjirou and Gyutaro became what they are (Demon Slayer and Demon respectively) for the sake of their sisters, their relationship is overall opposite. Gyutaro couldn't reach his peak potential because he had to protect Daki, but Tanjirou and Nezuko can protect each other

I didn't cry when Ren Goku died, but I was pretty sad. I didn't cry when Rui was reunited with his parents, though it was a beautiful scene. My favorite scene in the show thus far, and the closest I've come to crying, was Gyutaro and Daki's final moments. Tanjiro is watching the two of them argue with each other, calling each other names and telling each other they are failures and cowards. You can tell they don't hate each other, but in the moment all they want to do is hurt each other and project their anger unto others. These two siblings who have sacrificed so much for each other and lead a life of misery and suffering were about to spend their final moments claiming they wished the other was never born. And that hit me hard. And Tanjiro came in and pointed out that in a world where they would die despised by every who they killed and those they hurt, they only have each other. They shouldn't waste their final breaths insulting the only one with the capacity to care for them. And after their tragic backstory and beautiful reunion following each other into the fires of hell, all I could think of was Tanjiro's thoughts as they burned away might be: "Wow those two were jerks."

Their and akuza's backstories were the saddest in the story I thought. That's what made them so good

A small detail but when their heads are cut off, gyutaro had a smoother beheading but Daki got a a more rough and jagged beheading

More like their father(s) unknown. Daki and Gyutaro likely had different fathers. I don't know what significance them being half siblings would fit into their dynamic, maybe the yin/yang theme they have going on.

Tanjiro's arc in this part also kind of reflects Amaterasu's with the cave when taking into account the designs of Daki and Tengen The japanese god of festivities is Ame-no-Uzume, who made the kagura dance and performed it nude to lure Amaterasu (the sun goddess) out of her cave Tengen calls himself "the god of festivities" and Daki is a semi-nude entertainer - as japanese courtesans are often trained to entertain with music/dance/storytelling (hence Zenitsu being valued for his music skills) You could almost say that it was the action of a god of festivities and the moves of a nude/semi nude entertainer that inspired people to take up the Kagura and brought the sun (breathing) out of its cave Although now that you mention Susanoo's sword coming from Yamata no Orochi, I suppose that Tanjiro's nichirin getting damaged in this fight could be the catalyst for... ...(spoilers)... him going to the Swordsmith Village, cutting open their training dummy, and retrieving his sengoku sword from there

They are a mirror reflection of Tanjiro & Nezuko

I guess this means we probably won't see a video on Akaza until the anime gets near the end since at this point all the Hashira have been done along with most of the main cast and the only characters left are Upper 5, 4, 3 and 1 along with Tanjiro and Nezuko and Muzan. Anyone wanna take bets on who gets the next video?

The moment Gyuutaro got so pissed off that Uzui was when I knew he'd be one of my favourite villains in the show. I lost my mind at that scene. Gotta be honest tho the way the lost was kinda crappy tbh there were several times that I felt that plot was the only thing that made em lose plus I also got salty that everyone survived the battle with relatively minimal losses even though those two demons were supposed to have killed dozens of hashira but got chumped by 1 hashira and 3 schmucks with plot armour. Overall I was pretty salty on rewatch but whatever it was a fun arc.

I, too, am a fan of Demon Shaggy.

Anyone else feel like the series really should've delved more into the grey morality when it comes to demons. I mean yeah they kill and eat people but many demons like Akaza, Gyutaro and Daki all become what they are because of cruel humans as opposed to demons. Throughout the series we see plenty of examples of humans acting just as scummy as demons yet the Demon Slayers are never called out for this. THey're never forced to answer the question why killing humans is automatically bad when plenty of other humans have done so for purely petty reasons. Just feels like something I wish the story had explored a little, especially since Tamayo eventually does develop a cure for demons yet no one ever considers giving it to other demons outside of Nezuko.
